    摘要: The invention provides a color photographic element comprising at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer or a non silver-containing light-insensitive layer, in which at least one of these layers contains a colorless imidazole compound of formula (I) that undergoes less than 10% chemical or redox reaction with oxidized developer and which enables the photographic speed of the element to be increased by at least 0.05 stop without increasing granularity, compared to the same element without the compound, wherein the compound of formula (I) has the structure: wherein X is H or a substituent; Z represents the atoms necessary to complete an unsubstituted or substituted imidazole ring, which may form part of a fused unsubstituted or substituted ring system containing no further ring heteroatoms; wherein there is present at least one —NH group either in the imidazole ring or directly attached to the imidazole ring as part of X; provided that (a) when Z represents the atoms necessary to complete an unsubstituted or substituted benzimidazole ring, an —NH group is directly attached to the imidazole ring as part of X, and X is located between the imidazole nitrogen atoms; (b) when the —NH group is located in the ring adjacent to the carbon atom bearing X, and X is located between the imidazole nitrogen atoms, the imidazole ring is not fused to a phenanthrene ring. The compounds of formula (I) increase speed without a concomitant increase in size of the light-sensitive silver halide grains.

    摘要: A new fogging photographic processing solution for a reversal process comprises a compound (I) and a bi-nucleophilic agent. Compound (I) corresponds to the following formula: ##STR1## wherein A is a group capable of being adsorbed to the silver halide surface, L is a linking group and r is 0 or 1, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently selected from an alkyl group, substituted or unsubstituted, and an aryl group substituted or unsubstituted. A process of producing a positive image by imagewise exposure of a reversal silver halide material comprises contacting the material with the above fogging solution or by imagewise exposure of such a material containing a compound (I) and contacting the material with a solution comprising a bi-nucleophilic agent.

    摘要: Unique imagewise exposed and developed originating color silver halide photographic elements can be processed with bleaching and/or fixing solutions. The element is characterized by several important features. It contains a silver halide grain population of at least 50 mole percent chloride, based on total silver forming the grain population projected area, wherein at least 50 percent of total grain projected area is accounted for by intrinsically stable tabular grains (1) bounded by {100} major faces having adjacent edge ratios of less than 10, and (2) an aspect ratio of at least 2. Also, at least 50 mole % of the element silver halide is silver chloride, and no more than 2 mole % silver iodide. It also contains a bleach accelerator releasing compound. The element is also free of a desilvering rate retarding amount of a development inhibitor releasing compound having a free sulfur valence which binds to silver.

    摘要: The present invention provides silver halide color photographic materials having a layer which contains at least one magenta color image-forming oleophilic coupler of the following formulae (I) and/or (II) and at least one of the following formula (III): ##STR1## in which Ar represents a phenyl group which is substituted by at least one substituent selected from the group consisting of a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl group and a cyano group; Y represents an acylamino group or an anilino group; and Z.sub.1 represents a group capable of being removed by coupling, ##STR2## in which X represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent; Z.sub.2 represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of being removed by coupling;W represents a hydrogen atom, an acyl group or an aliphatic or aromatic sulfonyl group;Za and Zb each represent a methine group, a substituted methine group or --N.dbd.; andX, Z.sub.2 or the substituted methine of Za or Zb may form a dimer or higher polymer, ##STR3## in which A represents an alkyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group, an acyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, a heterocyclic oxy group, an alkylthio group, an arylthio group or an amino group, which may be substituted or unsubstituted; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each independently represents a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group; R.sub.3a and R.sub.3b each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an alkylthio group or an arylthio group; R.sub.4 represents an alkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; and D represents an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom.The use of the combination of the magenta coupler(s) of the formulae (I) and/or (II) and the stain-inhibitory additive(s) of the formula (II) provides photographic light-sensitive materials that are almost free from stains when such materials are preserved for a long period of time after having been exposed, developed and then photographically processed.
