    摘要: A sequence controller, employing digital techniques, employs clock pulses to energize and deenergize incremental loads sequentially at spaced intervals to correct the deviation of a sensed condition from a setpoint. The clock is inhibited from producing pulses when no deviation requiring correction exists. A feedback provides anticipation for the effect of the energization and deenergization of condition changing loads. Hunting is substantially eliminated.

    摘要: A method and system for providing dosing of fluid is described. The method and system is directed to the control of a plurality of parallel on/off valves which regulate the flow of the fluid. The system includes a plurality of base control valves for delivering a base flow amount. The base control valves are preferably arranged to have binary graduation of their respective flow rates. These base control valves are optionally discontinuously switched on and/or off for delivering the base flow amount. A "timed" valve is varied according to pulse-width modulation techniques to deliver a continuously variable partial flow. The control of the timed valve is effected by electrical circuitry which generates a feedback error signal related to the flow quantity.

    摘要: A process control system providing a particular control effort function is divided into a primary control effort portion having a primary controller, and a feed back from the controlled process to the primary controller, and a secondary control effort portion having a secondary controller in controlling relation therewith, and receiving its control input from the primary controller. The secondary controller is provided with limits such that it becomes saturated in operation, thereby permitting selective overriding by the primary controller, while utilizing the secondary controller and actuators the maximum practical amount. The arrangement is suitable for use with continuously variable devices or for use with on-off (bang-bang) devices. The particular embodiments illustrated are (1) a bang-bang heater system, and (2) a continuously variable fluid flow control system.

    摘要: An electrical circuit for a heating system has a plurality of electrical resistance heating elements and a blower all controlled by a plurality of electro-thermally actuated relays. The circuit is arranged so that the heating elements are sequentially energized and de-energized and so that the blower is maintained in operation at all times that any one of the heating elements is energized. A thermostat controls the operation of the relays, the second and the last of which each having switches connected in series circuits with the actuator of the first relay and in parallel with the thermostat so as to maintain blower operation, which is controlled by the first relay, when the thermostat opens.
