Abstract:
A process plant data collection and viewing system uses a common or integrated navigational tree structure and one or more common display formats to enable a user to view, in a similar and consistent manner, information obtained from different applications or data sources within a process plant at any desired level of integration, even though the actual data from the multiple different data applications or data sources may be collected and organized in different manners by different data sources. Because a common visualization of information is provided at different levels of data integration, a user can easily navigate through the data stored in the database or collected by the different data sources at higher or lower levels of data integration without having to contend with or encounter multiple different viewing formats for the same type of data.
Abstract:
A new and improved control system architecture with a single server interface for application software that eliminates manual intervention by providing online, immediate access to information needed for plant/enterprise optimization, operation, configuration, maintenance and diagnostic application software. The control system architecture provides a method of dynamically creating a server directory to enable automatic access in an integrated control system. The method includes accessing a live list of fieldbus devices, building/updating a browse tree structure, the browse tree structure defining a branch and leaf node organization and naming for and data from the fieldbus devices, copying AP directories and FF objects from active fieldbus devices into a FF directory and mapping the FF Directory into the server directory.
Abstract:
A plastics processing machine, particularly an injection molding machine, with an operating unit, a machine controller, and a subsystem having its own dedicated control unit is described. The machine controller and control device each generate a screen display and can be operated via the screen display. The operating unit is connected or can be connected for data transmission to both the machine controller and the control unit. Both of the machine controller and the control unit can be monitored and controlled by reproducing the original screen output from the machine controller and the control unit on the display screen of the operating unit, where new information can be entered. The information entered on the display screen of the operating unit is then transmitted back to the corresponding controller or unit associated with the reproduced screen display where the information was entered.
