    摘要: A signal transmission/monitoring method for a system including a master station and a plurality of slave stations installed on and along a signal transmission line so as to be capable of mutually performing information transmission and reception in such a manner that the master station calls the slave stations through sequential polling with the called slave station sending reply information to the master station. An interrupt enable time zone is provided between a time point at which the call signal transmission from the master station is completed and a time point at which the reply signal transmission from the slave station is started. When other slave station issues an interrupt request within the interrupt enable time zone, signal transmission to the master station from that other slave station is carried out with priority.

    摘要: An environmental monitoring system in which a controller is arranged to test the workability and reliability of a plurality of detector units on a cyclic basis. Each unit has an analog sensor and an analog to digital converter for converting the analog sensor voltage to a digital value in a range of 0 to N. Each unit responds to a test instruction to cause the sensor analog output to assume an alarm value. The sensor output is limited to a maximum value that under a no drift condition of the analog to digital converter, its corresponding digital signal value will be intermediate a tolerance range of values, the upper limit of such range being less than N. The controller includes a test routine program for both issuing the test instruction and for determining if the digital signal test value is within the tolerance range and issuing a trouble output indicative of the test value being outside the range. The controller also includes a polling program which directs the polling of the detector units such that a test instruction is sent sequentially to the detector units on successive loop polls, where a loop poll is one poll of all the units coupled to the line.

    摘要: A control system has a central unit for applying DC operating current and control signals to a two line bus. The central unit applies a DC operating current to the bus, as well as signals that have first and second parts. A terminal connected to the bus detects first signal parts on the bus that are unique to that terminal, and, in response thereto, applies the second signal parts to its output terminals. A manual control unit is connected to receive operating current and signals from the output terminals. The manual control unit has a plurality of keys connected to load the bus, and is responsive to determined second signal parts for inhibiting such loading of the bus, thereby enabling the central unit to determine and address of the manual control unit.

    摘要: A parallel bus alarm system in which address signals are represented by successive voltage steps, and responses are represented by current increments. Each alarm element, in response to its addressing, controls a variable current increment to flow in the bus, the magnitude of the current increment being a function of an associated analog measurement to be reported. Each alarm element also causes a predetermined current increment to flow in the bus in response to a condition arising which requires reporting, the total current change thus being directly proportional to the number of alarm indications.

    摘要: A communication system in which a controller ordinarily polls addressable transponders in a sequential or random manner normally allows the transponders to respond only in their respective assigned time period. Certain of the transponders are connected to allow response in a predefined time segment from those transponders so connected if (1) the transponder is in fact programmed for response during this predefined time segment, and (2) the predefined time segment is now occuring. By providing the predefined time segment at the same position in the response time period of each transponder, a "public time" is provided to allow virtually instantaneous identification and verification of a high priority interrupt (such as a holdup alarm). In addition the transponders programmed to respond during public time on a high priority basis can be subdivided into separate groups, and the groups can be identified at the controller.

    摘要: A signal transmission system for transmitting a first signal and a second signal superposed thereupon through a common signal transmission line composed of two wires. A plurality of terminal units are connected through the common signal transmission line to a central unit and are connected in parallel with each other across the two wires of the signal transmission line. At least one of the terminal units transmits the first signal in the form of a level signal; and at least one of the terminal units transmits or receive the second signal in the form of a superposed signal on the level signal. The central unit transmits and receives the superposed signal as well as receives the level signal for receiving data or information respectively from the above terminal units. Accordingly, both the first and second signals of different types and therefore carrying different information can be transmitted between the central unit and the respective terminal units through the common signal transmission line.

    摘要: A remote sensing and control system wherein a plurality of remote sensing units are connected to a central control and monitoring console by only four interconnecting wires. A clock signal is converted to a plurality of parallel address signals at the local monitoring console and also at the remote sensing units located up the building. A sync signal is employed to synchronize all of the serial to parallel converters in the system, and each remote unit is provided with a specific code and is identified by selectively routing one or more signals through an invertor located at each unit so that the signals trigger a logic device in the particular time slot assigned to each remote unit. The input circuitry of each remote sensing unit compares two fixed microvolt reference signals derived from the least significant bit of the address signals with the return signal from the sensing device to sense for opens, grounds, normal conditions, and alarms. The system is adapted to operate with conventional computing means and programmable read only memories, as well as a multiplexer unit, for providing control signals to operate controlling device upon the occurrence of predetermined signals from the sensing device.
