    摘要: Pedal assemblies and methods provide for signal control, such as for controlling audio and/or effects path signals used in generating audio from a musical instrument. The pedal assemblies may provide for simultaneous audio and effects control via electrical pathways dedicated to each. Rotation of the pedal about one or more axes of rotation results in modifying an electrical characteristic of devices of the pedal that control the audio and effects path signals. A particular axis of rotation that modifies the electrical characteristic of a device may be configured to produce a particular audio or effects path control based on which of the jacks are in use such that by changing the jacks that are in use, the function of a particular axis of rotation may change. Furthermore, a pedal assembly may provide for two axes of rotation where the centers of rotation of the two axes are non-coincident. The two axes of rotation may be better isolated as a result.

A sound modulator (26) is used for modulating tones of the electronic sounds from the augmented microphones without any digital conversion. A reproducer (34) is used for reproducing the output sounds from the sound modulator (26). Because the processes of digitally converting, transferring signals by optical couplers, and selecting recorded sounds for reproducing are eliminated, the reproduced sounds can represent subtle techniques of the performer by directly using the original sounds generated when the first original sound generators (100) are beaten.

    摘要: An initial note series is collected from a real-time source of musical input material such as a keyboard or a sequencer playing back musical data, or extracted from musical data stored in memory. The initial note series may be altered to create variations of the initial note series using various mathematical operations. The resulting altered note series, or other data stored in memory is read out according to one or more patterns. The patterns may have steps containing pools of independently selectable items from which random selections are made. A pseudo-random number generator is employed to perform the random selections during processing, where the random sequences thereby generated have the ability to be repeated at specific musical intervals. The resulting musical effect may additionally incorporate a repeated effect, or a repeated effect can be independently performed from input notes in the musical input material. The repeated notes are generated according to one or more patterns, which may also have steps containing pools of random selections. A duration control means is used to avoid polyphony problems and provide novel effects. Pitch-bending effects may be additionally generated as part of the musical effect, or can be independently performed. A sliding control window may be utilized to achieve accurate and realistic pitch-bending effects. This method and the apparatus that can perform such a method have application to music and other data in general as well.

    摘要: In order to obtain a sound-broadened image and a clear sound-image discrimination image when producing plural kinds of sounds, the electronic musical instrument and the like provides a sound-image position control apparatus. This apparatus at least provides a signal mixing portion (e.g., matrix controller) and a virtual-speaker position control portion. Herein, the signal mixing portion mixes plural audio signals supplied from a sound source and the like in accordance with a predetermined signal mixing procedure so as to output plural mixed signals. In order to control positions of virtual speakers which are emerged as sound-producing points as if each kind of sounds is produced from each of these points, the virtual-speaker position control portion applies different delay times to each of plural mixed signals so as to output delayed signals as right-side and left-side audio signals to be respectively supplied to right-side and left-side speakers. Thus, the sound-image positions formed by the virtual speakers are controlled well, so that the person can clearly discriminate and recognize each of the sound-image positions. When applying this apparatus to the game device providing a display unit which displays an animated image representing a visual image of the air plane and the like, by adequately controlling the sound-image position, it is possible to obtain a brand-new live-audio effect, by which the point of producing the sounds corresponding to the animated image can be moved in accordance with the movement of the animated image which is moved by the player of the game.
