    摘要: A method and apparatus for composing and performing music on an electronic instrument in which individual chord progression chords can be triggered in real-time, while simultaneously making the individual notes of the chord, and/or possible scale and non-scale notes to play along with the chord, available for playing in separate fixed-locations on the instrument. The method of composition involves the designation of a chord progression section on the instrument, then assigning chords or individual chord notes to this chord progression section according to the defined customary scale or customary scale equivalent of a song key. Further, as each chord is played in the chord progression section, the individual notes of the currently triggered chords are simultaneously made available for playing in separate fixed locations on the instrument. Fundamental and alternate notes of each chord may be made available for playing in separate fixed locations for composing purposes. Possible scale and/or non-scale notes to play along with the currently triggered chord, may also be simultaneously made available for playing in separate fixed locations on the instrument. All composition data can be stored in memory or on a storage device, and can later be retrieved and performed by a user from a fixed location on the instrument. The composition data may also be performed from a reduced number of input controllers. Further, multiple instruments of the present invention can be utilized together to allow interaction among multiple users during composition and/or performance, with no knowledge of music theory required.

Thus, data representing contents of a bass accompaniment and data representing contents of a chord accompaniment can be separately detected, whereby the electronic musical instrument can perform a bass accompaniment independent of a chord accompaniment, and thus the variety of a performance can be increased. Further, in the device for detecting data of contents of an accompaniment, bit pattern data representing a chord to be performed as an accompaniment is generated by ORing data representing pitches of a predetermined octave-segment which correspond to pitches indicated by the pitch indicating unit in each octave-segment of the first portion, and the chord to be performed is detected by comparing the bit pattern data obtained as a result of the OR operation with bit pattern data corresponding to various chords stored in a memory, by sequentially shifting the bit pattern data obtained as the result of the OR operation, whereby even a chord in an inversion thereof can be easily and accurately detected.

    摘要: An automatic accompaniment apparatus is adopted to a keyboard-type electronic musical instrument. Herein, the chord constituent notes and bass note of the subharmonic chord (or fractional chord) are detected and separated from the notes which are designated by the performer who depresses the keys of the keyboard. In response to certain chord note, particularly root of the chord, the desirable chord pattern (or chord type) is selected from the predetermined chord patterns memorized in a data table. This data table can be memorized with relatively small memory capacity. Thus, it is possible to accurately detect the subharmonic chord with small memory capacity. Then, the desirable subharmonic chord is automatically sounded as the accompaniment in accordance with the selected chord pattern and the detected bass note.

According to these notes, duet note data, which can be added, is read out from a chord-notes weighting information storage area on the basis of chord constituting notes, and another duet note data, which can be added, is read out from a note weighting information storage area according to a relative note data of the highest note relative to the root note of the chord. These readout duet note data are subjected to a calculation, thus selecting a duet note. Therefore, duet note data corresponding in numbers to chords and relative notes need only be stored in the memory, thus reducing the capacity of the duet note data memory.

    摘要: In order to play an automatic performance based on performance information which is stored in a storage device and the like in advance, an electronic musical instrument provides an automatic performance apparatus. The automatic performance apparatus is configured by a performance style designating portion, a storage portion, a read-out portion and an automatic performance portion. The performance style designating portion designates a desired performance style within a plurality of performance styles, each of which corresponds to a specific music genre such as rock music, jazz and pop music. The storage portion, such as a read-only memory, stores a plurality of chord progression patterns with respect to each of the performance styles. The read-out portion accesses the storage portion to automatically read out one of the chord progression patterns concerned with the desired performance style which is designated by the performance style designating portion. Herein, each of the chord progression patterns is given a specific priority, so that a certain chord progression pattern given a higher priority is selectively read out from the storage portion. Then, the automatic performance portion, which is configured by a tone generator and a sound system, plays an automatic performance in accordance with the chord progression pattern which is read from the storage portion by the read-out portion.
