摘要: Device includes a rhythm pattern pulse generator to generate a set of rhythm pattern pulses selected from plural sets of rhythm patterns. Each rhythm pattern pulse of the selected set triggers each individual rhythm sound source so as to constitute, by the combination of the outputs of the triggered sources, a predetermined rhythm sound performance. The outputs of the rhythm sound sources are supplied to a sound volume presetting circuit the respective inputs of which are selectively connected to respective rhythm output lines through resistors having predetermined values in accordance with the kinds of the rhythms to be played, and the output lines are connected to an output terminal through respective rhythm selector switches to be closed upon selection of the kind of rhythm performances.

摘要: Generating a pitched musical part from an electronic music file comprised of instrumental parts includes generating a control stream that indicates which of the instrumental parts has a highest value for a period of time, selecting one of the instrumental parts for the period of time based on the control stream, and outputting the selected instrumental part for the period of time to produce the musical part. Generating a non-pitched musical part from an electronic music file includes identifying patterns in the electronic music file and selectively combining the patterns to produce the musical part.

摘要: A percussion synthesizer comprising a generally triangular body with a triangular upper surface upon which a plurality of piezoelectric transducers are mounted. Side surfaces adjacent the top surface and intersecting same at angles between 180 and 270 degrees also carry transducers. The outputs from the transducers are provided to a MIDI interface that transmits standard musical instrument digital interface data to a sound reproduction device. The identity of the transducer provides the pitch information for the MIDI interface and the velocity is calculated from the time rate of change of the output voltage from the piezoelectric transducers. An improved transducer having superior cross talk suppression capabilities is also disclosed.

摘要: A system for development of rhythmic patterns in which repetitive ramp wave forms are developed, the repetition rate of which is controlled, pulses being developed by sampling the ramp wave forms at predetermined levels, certain of the pulses being selected by means of a matrix to form each required pattern. The minima and maxima of the ramps are maintained at fixed levels and the slopes of the ramps are conformed to the desired repetition rates in accordance with the tempo of a player controlled instrument, such as an electric organ. Provision is made for extending rhythm patterns over two measures, each different from the other, for inserting additional beats near the end of each fourth measure of a piece of music, provision of visual tempo indication, and provision of a cutoff for instant abortion of the presently played measure, allowing rapid changes of tempo.

摘要: An interactive electronic drum system and training techniques suitable for use in a coin-operated environment such as an arcade are described. Electronic drum pads, audio speakers, a visual display, training lights and an overall control system are combined to simulate the excitement of a live drum or inactive musical jam session for a user. Positive feedback and, as necessary, instructive aid are provided to make the experience a positive one for both the novice and the expert player. Learning and playing a musical instrument becomes an intuitive, exciting experience and not a boring chore to be endured. Players can simulate the experience of playing in a rock band before a live and appreciative audience. In short, this interactive electronic drum system makes drums and the jamming experience widely accessible to the public.

摘要: A read only memory is provided, which has a plurality of storing regions allotted for a plurality of kinds of rhythm patterns, each region having a plurality of addresses for storing, in an address sequence, a rhythm pattern of a shortest rhythm pattern unit represented by a combination of information units in the form of logic "ones" and logic "zeros", the logic "one"; representing a note being generated and the logic zero representing a note being not generated, whereby the notes are represented in binary form, whereby the required number of information units is reduced compared to the prior art. Each address in the memory has a plurality of bit positions allotted to a plurality of kinds of musical instruments, whereby a plurality of kinds of rhythm patterns are stored for a plurality of kinds of musical instruments. A matrix is provided for presetting the number of steps in terms of clock signals for each kind of rhythm pattern required for reading the stored rhythm pattern in a repetitive manner for generating a desired rhythm as a repetition of the shortest rhythm pattern unit. An address counter is coupled to the read only memory and responsive to the clock signals for addressing the same. An address control is responsive to the number of clock signals preset by the matrix for controlling the address counter for skipping the addresses each time the preset number of clock signals are provided. As a result, the number of addresses used in the read only memory is reduced. The outputs of the read only memory read in a bit parallel fashion from each of the addresses as addressed are applied to tone generators for generation of a mixed rhythm signal.
