The forward end of body plate (10) is supported by the microphone stand's base (24). This support elevates the forward end of pedal board (8) and weights base (24) of microphone stand (25). A receptacle (20) is provided in the forward end of body plate (10) that accepts a gooseneck lamp (32) for illumination of pedal board (8) and effects pedals (28) in conditions of low ambient light. An interactive electronic drum system and training techniques suitable for use in a coin-operated environment such as an arcade are described. Electronic drum pads, audio speakers, a visual display, training lights and an overall control system are combined to simulate the excitement of a live drum or inactive musical jam session for a user. Positive feedback and, as necessary, instructive aid are provided to make the experience a positive one for both the novice and the expert player. Learning and playing a musical instrument becomes an intuitive, exciting experience and not a boring chore to be endured. Players can simulate the experience of playing in a rock band before a live and appreciative audience. In short, this interactive electronic drum system makes drums and the jamming experience widely accessible to the public.

A music delivery system enables a user to listen to desired music at low cost anywhere and any time. It has a server including a music data storage for storing music data uploaded from a personal computer, and a processor for generating a speech-based interactive document describing an interactive procedure with a car navigation system in accordance with information in the music data uploaded from the personal computer. In response to a download request from the car navigation system, the server transmits the speech-based interactive document generated by the processor to the car navigation system. The car navigation system retrieves and downloads desired music data from the music data storage of the server through interaction with the server in accordance with the speech-based interactive document received from the server.

An electronic percussion instrument is constituted by a hi-hat, a stand, and a foot pedal, wherein the hi-hat is interlocked with the foot pedal via a movable shaft. In the hi-hat, a core plate (and a core) is arranged in the upper portion, and membrane switches are arranged in the lower portion and are covered with a rubber block, which is gradually brought into contact with membrane switches when depressed by the core plate, which is moved downwards upon depression of the foot pedal. In response to a depressed position of the foot pedal, membrane switches are sequentially turned on or off, thus producing a control signal whose value is varied to control an electronic sound in tone color. Thus, it is possible to produce various hi-hat sounds such as an open hi-hat sound, a closed hi-hat sound, and a foot hi-hat sound as necessary.

There is provided an electronic keyboard musical instrument that gives the performance feeling closer to that given by an acoustic piano and enables techniques of expression closer to those used when playing the acoustic piano. Touch information is generated based on first information output when an ON event of a first (deep) SW of a switch section occurs, and a tone generator section generates a musical tone according to the touch. When an OFF event of a third (shallow) SW of the switch section occurs during key release, the musical tone being generated is progressively damped, and at the same time a musical tone having a predetermined characteristic is generated. The OFF event of the third SW is made equivalent to a damper-leaving position in a key stroke of an acoustic piano keyboard.
