摘要： A playback system has a rotatably driven turntable for controlling the operation of a playback stylus device with a video disc record disposed on the turntable. The video information, which is recorded in the form of geometric variations in a spiral groove of the record, is recovered by sensing the capacitance between the stylus playback device and the record surface. The stylus is supported in a housing which is movable in a manner to provide travel of the stylus radially over the record. A stylus control device provides movement of the stylus relative to the housing into and out of engagement with the record surface. Two drive arrangements are provided to be operable in alternative manner to drive the stylus housing over the record. A movable pointer is provided to indicate the position of the stylus along the record. Each of first and second drive means have motion coupling devices, which are controllably engageable in alternative manner to a driving shaft of the turntable. A movable drive change assembly is intercoupled with the respective drive arrangements and the stylus control apparatus, to selectively energize the drive and stylus control apparatuses. The system includes a manual selector arm for positioning a portion of control mechanism, which is instrumental in establishing drive control of the stylus housing and positioning of the stylus. The selector positions one of a pair of electrical contacts in a given initial spaced relation. The second electrical contact is positioned by a portion of the drive means to cause the contacts to engage at a desired position of the stylus over the record. An electrical circuit completed thereby is operative through electro-mechanical means to control the drive and positioning of the stylus with respect to the record. A manually actuatable lever arrangement is coupled to the drive and stylus control mechanism. This mechanism when actuated is operative to disengage drive of the stylus housing over the record and remove the stylus from the record, while maintaining the position of the stylus with respect to the center of the record.

摘要： In a record player, a phonograph record disc is supported in a playing position on a turntable which is rotatably drivable at a selected speed about an axis. The disc, in its playing position, is engageable with a stylus carried by a transducer cartridge which is held in a carriage. The carriage is movable in a guide which defines a line of carriage movement radially of the turntable, the carriage being so movable in response to engagement of the stylus in the record groove. The player includes sensing means comprised of a follower member which is disposed adjacent the carriage and which is drivable along a path parallel to the carriage line for following the movement of the carriage during play of a record. The sensing means is operable for sensing the relative positions along the line and the path of the carriage and of the follower member, and for generating a signal indicative of such relative positions. The follower is driven, in a manner tending to drive the signal to zero, by a stepping motor, the drive pulses of which are counted to derive an indication of the position of the carriage at any time, or for use in driving the carriage via the follower to a predetermined position radially of the turntable. The follower is also a component of a lift mechanism which lifts the cartridge in the carriage, moving the stylus away from a record for traversal of the carriage radially of a record.

摘要： A multi-stage agitation system is used for degumming vegetable oil to increase yield and reduce phosphatides. A high-shear mixing phase, that can include multiple stages, subjects an oil mixed with acid and base to a shear rate of greater than 15,000 s−1 to form a neutralized oil mixture. A low-shear mixing phase is further used to disperse water into the neutralized oil mixture. A separation step can be used to remove the phosphatides from the treated oil to form a degummed oil product.

摘要： A first generator 1 produces a continuously increasing signal corresponding to the tone arm pick-up stylus position, and a second generator 2 produces a synchronizing signal comprising a pulse for each turntable rotation. The synchronizing pulses alternately trigger a pair of parallel sample and hold circuits 4a, 4b supplied with the position signal, whose differential output S is compared with a reference signal T. When the former exceeds the latter the tone arm is returned. Any cyclical variations in the position signal due to the eccentricity of the record spindle hole are self-cancelling during the differential comparison because their magnitudes are substantially the same when sampled during the same relative periods of the turntable rotation cycle. The high pitch of the lead-out groove at the end of the record play produces a large differential output signal, to thereby trigger the tone arm return.In a second embodiment a variable amplitude pulse generator is employed whose turntable revolution synchronized output pulses each have an amplitude corresponding to the instantaneous tone arm position. Such pulses thus serve the dual functions of providing synchronized gating signals and indicating the rotational position of the tone arm.
