摘要： A motor protector (10) is shown having an elongated generally cup-shaped metallic housing (12) formed by a top wall (12a) and a side wall (12b) extending down from the perimeter of the top walls, the free end of which is welded to a header (14). The side and top wall have a rounded junction (12c) and a calibration rill (12e) is formed in the top wall from one end of the housing and through the rounded junction. An elongated thermostatic disc (16) is mounted in the housing and has a movable electrical contact (20) mounted at one end to be movable into and out of engagement with a stationary electrical contact (34) that is in turn mounted on a heater (26). A ceramic insulator plate (32) is interposed between the heater and the header.

摘要： A circuit breaker with a thermal trip has a calibration opening in the electrically insulating housing through which a tool may be inserted and rotated to distort a support plate on which a bimetal is mounted to calibrate the thermal trip after the circuit breaker has been fully assembled and enclosed within the insulating housing. A tamper indicating seal in the form of a destructible film secured over the calibration opening by an adhesive having an adhesive strength exceeding the tensile strength of the destructible film provides a visual indication of any subsequent attempts to tamper with the calibration setting.

摘要： A thermostatic electrical switch for providing an electrically conductive path when the temperature of the switch is below a threshold temperature and for opening the path when the temperature of the switch is above the threshold temperature, includes a bimetal thermostatic element which is riveted to a support post. The post is welded to a base plate which forms a portion of the switch casing. An indentation is formed in the casing such that a portion of the mounting for an electrically conductive terminal is urged downwardly, thus positioning the terminal for proper switch operation.

摘要： A trigger switch and lock mechanism therefore to be mounted in the handle of a drill housing for activating a motor of a drill wherein the trigger switch includes a speed control circuit carried on a circuit board. A trigger is slidably disposed in mounting brackets affixed on the circuit board. A locking member is slidably connected in one of the mounting brackets and is shiftable into contact with the trigger so as to lock the trigger in depressed position so that once the switch has been activated it will be locked in the "on" position at the selected speed setting. A spring is connected to the locking member to release the locking member from engagement with the trigger upon subsequent trigger depression to place the switch in the "off" position. The locking member and trigger have correspondingly high friction contact surfaces. The locking member may have a camming portion which coacts with the bracket to cause a wedge-lock action at the trigger contact surface which is releasable only upon subsequent trigger depression resulting in release of the locking member and deactivation switch upon the trigger load spring biasing the trigger to the "off" position.

摘要： A ground fault circuit interrupter characterized by a circuit breaker and a ground fault detector contained within an insulating housing. The circuit breaker comprises an elongated current-carrying bimetal element for tripping a pair of cooperable contacts from the closed to the open position, one end portion of the bimetal element being fixedly mounted and the other end being free to move in one direction in response to an increase in temperature. A bi-metal stop projection within the housing to prevent movement of the bimetal element from its latched position to the other direction in response to extremely cold ambient temperatures.
