    摘要: Disclosed are a programmable switch array which provides tactical feel indication of activation to a user. The switch array includes a display device adapted to display switch information. A glass plate is positioned in front of the display device. Multiple switching mechanisms are positioned behind the glass plate. One or more pivot members are positioned behind the glass plate and disposed such that upon the user pushing upon a region of the glass plate, the glass plate pivots about the pivot member and actuates a corresponding one of the multiple switching mechanisms. The pivoting of the glass plate provides the user a tactical feel indication of the activation of the switch.

    摘要: A tamper resistant membrane switch includes a backer plate and an overlying metal panel. Sandwiched between the backer plate and metal panel is a membrane switch subassembly. A plurality of spacers between the backer plate and metal panel separate the two but allow the metal panel to deflect toward the backer plate when external finger pressure is applied. Such deflection closes the underlying poles of the membrane switch subassembly to actuate the switch. The positioning and size of the spacers determines where deflection can occur and how much force is needed to actuate the switches. The overlying panel, being formed of solid metal over its entire surface, is resistant to damage from vandalism, thievery or other attack.

    摘要: A glass membrane touch-controlled circuit apparatus for voltage selection. The apparatus has a flexible glass membrane which is spaced by a dielectric layer adhesively joined between the upper flexible glass membrane and a lower, rigid support layer. Conductive circuitry is printed onto the surface of the upper flexible glass membrane and corresponding areas of conductive and/or resistive circuitry are printed onto the lower support layer. By application of tactile pressure to the upper flexible glass membrane, the conductive circuitry printed onto the flexible glass membrane can be moved into a point of momentary contact with the circuitry carried on the lower support layer.

    摘要: A keyboard switch assembly includes a thin, flexible, glass top layer forming a membrane. Disposed on an inner surface of the glass membrane is a first conductive layer forming an electrode. Disposed beneath the first conductive layer is an insulating layer or spacer having an aperture therein that defines a switch contact area. Beneath the spacer a rigid portion of the keyboard switch assembly is provided. The rigid portion of the keyboard switch assembly includes a rigid substrate with a conductive coating formed thereon to provide a second conductive layer or electrode disposed beneath the spacer. A flexible polymer layer may further be disposed between the rigid substrate and the second conductive layer to reduce point contact degradation in the keyboard switch assembly. Decorative paint layers may be formed on the inner surface of the glass membrane between the glass membrane and the first conductive layer. Alternatively, where the layers forming the keyboard switch assembly are transparent, a decorative paint layer may be disposed on an outer surface of the rigid substrate.
