Abstract: A power supply controller works to control electrical power supplied to a surroundings monitor including an in-vehicle camera and an image processor which monitors surroundings of a vehicle using an output from the in-vehicle camera. The power supply controller includes a voltage monitor which determines whether an operating voltage for the image processor lies in a normal voltage range and an abnormal voltage range. Until a given threshold changing condition is met after start of power supply to the surroundings monitor, the voltage monitor alters at least one of an upper limit threshold and a lower limit threshold of the normal voltage range to decrease a difference between the upper and lower limit thresholds to be lower than that after the given threshold changing condition is satisfied. This ensures the stability in supplying electrical power to the surroundings monitor without restricting an operation of the surroundings monitor more than required.

Abstract: A motor driving apparatus for a cleaning appliance includes a battery source and a power controller. The battery source supplies the power controller with an output having a first voltage which decreases as the battery source is discharged. The power controller modulates the output to produce a drive signal for driving a motor that has a second voltage and a variable duty cycle. The power controller increases the duty cycle of the drive signal as the first voltage decreases in order to maintain the second voltage at a substantially constant average value per unit time. By providing the above arrangement, the motor can be supplied with a constant voltage throughout the available run time of the battery. When forming part of a cleaning appliance having a motor, the above arrangement allows the motor to operate at a substantially constant speed throughout the run time of the battery.

Abstract: A movable partition system includes a movable partition including coupled panels and a lead post engaged with and movable along a track. A motor control system includes a motor coupled to the movable partition and a switching circuit coupled to the motor and for selectively coupling the motor to a positive power source and a negative power source responsive to one or more PWM signals. An encoder is configured for generating one or more rotation signals indicative of operational direction and operational speed of the motor. A motor controller is coupled to the switching circuit and is configured for improving airflow around the panels of the movable partition when the lead post of the movable partition is between a predefined position and a fully retracted position indicative of a billowing effect for the panels by adjusting pulse widths of the PWM signals to control rotational speed of the motor.

Abstract: In order to obtain very long operating autonomy without maintenance, with low power consumption and low wear and tear, both the energizing and de-energizing of a DC motor are controlled by an electronic switching circuit providing bounce-free switching. A switching-on control circuit actuates the switching circuit, causing it to energize the motor. A switching-off control device, comprising a rotary component connected to the motor shaft and including contact elements responsive to the position of the rotary component, actuates the switching circuit to cut off the power supply to the motor after the rotary component has rotated through a predetermined angle. The arrangement is advantageous for driving apparatus which is not easily accessible and lacks reliable mains power. Another useful particularity consists in a multiple plug device whereby the rate of intermittent driving may be varied within the range of 1 day to 31 days.

Abstract: In the control of two or more electrical devices powered by a common battery and each actuated by a separate controlled rectifier chopper circuit, at least one of which is an SCR chopper circuit, under high stress conditions requiring both electrical devices to be repeatedly and rapidly turned on and off it has been found that control over the SCR chopper circuit can be lost due to inherent inductive effects which prevent the charging of the commutating capacitor of the SCR chopper to at least full open circuit battery voltage. This problem is met by inhibiting the occurrence of an "off" actuation control signal to the SCR chopper circuit for a given period of time before and a given period of time after an "on" actuation control signal to the other chopper circuit. Thus, in a battery powered lift truck, for example, having a drive motor and a lift pump motor each actuated by an independent SCR chopper circuit, an "on" actuation control signal to the drive motor circuit is sensed and any "off" actuation control signal to the lift pump motor circuit is inhibited for a few hundred microseconds before and a few hundred microseconds after the drive motor circuit is actuated to allow the battery to return to at least full open circuit voltage before the pump motor circuit is turned off.

Abstract: A motor circuit of a tape recorder comprises a mechanical switch in which a movable contact is connected to a first contact in response to the depression of a recording or reproduction button, and also to a second contact in response to the depression of a fast feeding or rewinding button.
