    摘要: A radio frequency circuit having at least one output terminal includes a plurality of non-linear elements, each having an output electrode. Means are provided for feeding at least one input signal to each one of the non-linear elements. The feeding means includes an electrical pathlength including at least one two port phase shifting element fed by at least the input signal, for providing a plurality of signal portions, each one fed to a corresponding one of the plurality of non-linear elements. These signal portions have a successively increasing phase shift related to the electrical pathlength of the two port phase shifting elements. The output electrodes of each non-linear element are interconnected by an input coupling means including at least one, different, two port phase shifting element, for successively electrically interconnecting the output electrode of each non-linear element. With such an arrangement, by providing two port phase shift elements in the input and output coupling means, proper phasing characteristics may be provided to such circuits without the necessity of using couplers or baluns which are generally difficult to fabricate, particularly, as broadband monolithic microwave integrated circuits.

    摘要: A microwave mixing circuit of a small size for selecting a signal to be received out of plural microwave signal inputs, and converting it to an intermediate frequency signal, and a down converter comprising it are provided. A microwave input signal within a band of 12 GHz applied to one microwave signal input unit is guided through a bias terminal from a comparator into a mixer diode to which a bias current is supplied, and is converted in frequency by the mixer diode. A microwave input signal applied to other microwave signal input unit is guided through the bias terminal from the comparator into a mixer diode to which bias current is not supplied, and is hence not converted in frequency by the mixer diode. As a result, only an intermediate frequency signal of 1 GHz band corresponding to the former microwave signal appears at the intermediate frequency signal output terminal.

    摘要: A monolithic distributed mixer includes a plurality of dual gate field effect transistors (FETs) and first and second corresponding pluralities of T shaped constant K-filters connected respectively to first and second gates of the dual gate FETs for delaying in time the LO and RF voltages applied thereto whereby the phase shift is the same at each filter and the phase difference between the LO and RF at each FET is equal. Thus, the IF energy developed at each drain is in phase. The plurality of dual gate FETs have their drains commonly connected for summing the IF outputs thereof to provide a flat response throughout the bandwidth which is limited only by the cutoff voltages of the FETs or first and second pluralities of K-filters which act as low pass filters.

    摘要: A monolithic double balanced mixer with a high third order intercept point employs a local oscillator signal which is applied to the input port of a first active distributed element balun. The balun has two outputs which are applied via amplifiers to respective inputs of a double balanced resistive FET quad mixer. The double balanced resistive FET quad mixer employs four MESFETs arranged in a ring configuration. Two additional inputs to the quad mixer are obtained from a second balun which is also of an active distributed element configuration and receives at the input the RF signal. The quad mixer operates to produce mixing of the LO and RF signals at the outputs thereof. The outputs of the quad mixer are applied to a combiner which operates to combine the outputs of the quad mixer to produce at the combiner output an IF signal. The combiner can be a common gate combiner configuration with active loads or a distributed configuration employing FET devices in a distributed transmission line type of circuit.

    摘要: A double balun circuit is provided by connecting two pairs of circut types. The first circuit, a distributed divider circuit, includes first and second pluralities of field effect transistors, a common input transmission line, and a first and second output transmission lines. The common input transmission line is disposed to successively couple the input electrodes of each transistor of both the first and second pluralities of transistors. The output lines are disposed to successively couple the output electrodes of the respective ones of the plurities of transistors. Each output transmission line is coupled to one of the pair of output terminals of the circuit. A pair of inverter circuits comprised of an input transmission line, a plurality of field effect transistors, and an output transmission line having input and output electrodes successively coupled by respective input and output transmission line networks are coupled between the output electrodes of each one of a pair of divider circuits, such that an input electrode at the input side of the inverter circuit is coupled to one of the outputs of the divider circuit, whereas an input terminal coupled to the output side of the inverter is coupled to the output of the second one of the divider circuits. This particular arrangement provides an active double balun which may be used in a double baluns mixer.

    摘要: An effective high frequency oscillator is made of a plurality of Josephson devices. A high frequency converter as a high frequency circuit is made of the high frequency oscillator, nonlinear superconductor devices, and transmission line. Josephson devices are connected in parallel to make a superconductor module. Then superconductive modules are connected in series for high frequency via a phase locking circuit such as a thin film type capacitor to make the high frequency oscillator. Consequently, the high frequency oscillator is used as a local oscillator for a frequency converter. The high frequency system comprises a high frequency package housing a high frequency circuit, a cooling unit including a low temperature stage in thermal contact with the high frequency package, and a shielding case for housing the high frequency circuit and the low temperature stage. The high frequency system of the present invention provides a small-sized and power-saving high frequency circuit having operational stability.
