摘要: An optical network device includes a receiver that receives a polarization multiplexed optical signal and a processor. The processor separates an electric field information signal indicating the polarization multiplexed optical signal into first and second polarization components orthogonal to each other, generates third and fourth polarization components by controlling the first and second polarization components, calculates an evaluation value corresponding to a power of the third or fourth polarization component for each of a plurality of positions on a transmission line, calculates a variation in the evaluation value for a control amount for each of the plurality of positions, and decides whether a first position is a position to be detected based on a result of comparing a variation in an evaluation value for the first position with a variation in an evaluation value for a second position adjacent to the first position.

摘要: An electric digital received signal obtained from a received optical signal is segmented into blocks of a certain length with an overlap of a length determined in advance with an adjacent block. Fourier transformation is performed for each of the blocks. The blocks subjected to the Fourier transformation are stored consecutively in time series, a coefficient determined based on a wavelength dispersion compensation amount according to one of frequency positions and a delay amount according to one of the frequency positions and one of time positions is applied to each of frequency component values included in a plurality of the stored blocks, and the blocks to which the coefficient has been applied and which are obtained by adding up the frequency component values to which the coefficient has been applied for each of the frequency positions are generated. Inverse Fourier transformation is performed on the generated blocks to which the coefficient has been applied. A part of the overlap subjected to the inverse Fourier transformation is removed.

摘要: A multiplexer/demultiplexer and a passive optical network system are provided. The multiplexer/demultiplexer includes N optical multiplexing/demultiplexing modules. The optical multiplexing/demultiplexing modules multiplex signals with different wavelengths from a plurality of ports to a same port, or demultiplex signals with different wavelengths from one port to different ports. The N optical multiplexing/demultiplexing modules correspond to the signals with different wavelengths. In the optical multiplexing/demultiplexing modules, a negative dispersion amount and an insertion loss of an Mth optical multiplexing/demultiplexing module are less than those of an (M+1)th optical multiplexing/demultiplexing module, where N is a positive integer, and M is a positive integer less than or equal to N. The multiplexer/demultiplexer and the passive optical network system increase an optical power budget between an optical transmitter and an optical transceiver.

摘要: There is provided a monitor device for monitoring a transmission line including a memory, and a processor coupled to the memory and configured to compensate for a portion of chromatic dispersion on electric signals indicating an electric field component of an optical signal, compensate for deterioration due to a nonlinear optical effect on the electric signals on which the portion of chromatic dispersion is compensated, compensate for a remaining chromatic dispersion except for the portion of chromatic dispersion on the electric signals on which the deterioration due to the nonlinear optical effect is compensated, evaluate quality of the electric signals on which remaining chromatic dispersion except for the portion of chromatic dispersion are compensated, and acquire a first compensation amount of the portion of chromatic dispersion and a second compensation amount of the deterioration due to the nonlinear optical effect, when the evaluated quality satisfies a predetermined condition.

The DSP is configured to perform a fiber dispersion compensation on the plurality of digital signals and add DC offsets to output a plurality of DC-restored compensated digital signals.

摘要: An optical receiver (20) includes an electrical signal generation unit (200), a first phase compensation unit (101), a distortion compensation unit (102), and a first dispersion compensation unit (400). The electrical signal generation unit (200) generates an electrical signal on the basis of received signal light. The first phase compensation unit (101) performs a phase rotation compensation process on the electrical signal generated by the electrical signal generation unit (200). The distortion compensation unit (102) performs a dispersion compensation process and a phase rotation compensation process in this order, at least once, on the electrical signal after having compensation performed thereon by the first phase compensation unit. The electrical signal generation unit (200), the first phase compensation unit (101), and the distortion compensation unit (102) are incorporated into one semiconductor device.

摘要: An optical transceiver in an optical communications network, comprising a receiver configured to receive an optical signal comprising an X-polarization component that comprises a first frame and a Y-polarization component that comprises a second frame. The optical transceiver also comprises a processor coupled to the receiver and configured to determine, in a time domain, a phase estimate according to the first frame and the second frame, determine, in a frequency domain, a channel estimate for the optical signal according to a relationship between the first frame, the second frame, and the phase estimate, and determine a compensated optical signal according to the channel estimate. The optical transceiver further comprises a transmitter coupled to the processor and configured to transmit the compensated optical signal to a downstream component in the optical communications network.
