Abstract: An apparatus and system are described to provide functions and procedures in a data-centric infrastructure (DCI). The logical architecture includes an infrastructure orchestration function and controller. Interactions between the infrastructure orchestration function and controller include a function request to form or release a logical computing node, or modify the logical computing node through addition or removal of at least one of a function-dedicated computing (FDC) function, a data plane (DP) function, or a function-dedicated network (FDN) function to the logical computing node. The controller configures the FDC/DP/FDN functions and sends a response indicating completion of operations performed by the controller that are related to the function request.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to bootstrapping an encrypted single node VSAN cluster. One method includes receiving a request to create an encrypted VSAN cluster from a single host in a software-defined datacenter, deploying a virtual server on a VSAN datastore of the software-defined datacenter, registering a native key provider (NKP) in the virtual server, creating an empty VSAN cluster encrypted by the NKP, adding the single host to the encrypted empty cluster to create a one-host encrypted cluster, registering a KMIP KMS in the virtual server, switching encryption of the one-host encrypted cluster from the NKP to the KMIP KMS, and adding another host to the one-host encrypted cluster to create the encrypted cluster.

Abstract: Computer-implemented methods, media, and systems for automating secured deployment of containerized workloads on edge devices are disclosed. One example computer-implemented method includes receiving, by a software defined wide area network (SD-WAN) edge device and from a remote manager, resource quotas for a compute service to be enabled at the SD-WAN edge device. Pre-deployment sanity checks are performed by confirming availability of resources satisfying the resource quotas, where the resources are at the SD-WAN edge device. In response to the confirmation of the availability of resources satisfying the resource quotas, one or more security constructs are set up to isolate SD-WAN network functions at the SD-WAN edge device from the compute service at the SD-WAN edge device. The compute service is attached to a SD-WAN network by the SD-WAN edge device. An acknowledgement that the compute service is enabled at the SD-WAN edge device is sent to the remote manager.

Abstract: Systems, devices, and techniques described herein are directed to managing discoverability of Session Management Functions (SMFs) in mobile networks based on connectivity to peer network functions (NFs). In particular, the systems, devices, and techniques can be implemented in fifth generation (5G) mobile networks to provide capability for an SMF to monitor connectivity with one or more peer network NFs, determine the connectivity with the one or more peer NFs does not satisfy a threshold level of connectivity with the peer NFs, and determine to suspend assignment of new calls and connections to the SMF. The SMF may then transmit a message to a network resource function (NRF) associated with the SMF to modify at least one status of the SMF at the NRF to cause the suspension of the assignment of the new calls and connections to the SMF.

Abstract: A method and a classification configuration module for managing a classification configuration for traffic, related to a service, in a software defined network are disclosed. Particularly, both the response time and the accuracy of the notification about a change of a subscribed network function may be improved.
