摘要： An electronic device includes a body and an input device. The body includes a shell and a non-conductive rear cover. The shell defines an opening. The rear cover tightly covers the opening and defines a through hole. The input device includes a resistor, a wire, a non-conductive rotating plate, and a conducting member. The resistor and the wire both are discontinuous ring-shaped, and concentrically disposed on the rear cover surrounding the through hole. The rotating plate is rotatably inserted through the through hole. The conducting member is disposed on the rotating plate and connects the resistor and the wire. The conducting member is operable to move around the resistor and the wire such that a resistance between one end of the resistor and one end of the wire is changed.

The electronic device further includes at least one rotatable member mounted in the base. A plurality of touch points are arranged on each surfaces of the rotatable member. The electronic device further includes a transmission mechanism and a knob. The knob is for driving the transmission mechanism, and the transmission mechanism is for rotating the rotatable member to make one surface of the at least one rotatable member face the pressable plate and the touch points on the surface being touchable by the user.

The keyboard is attached to the mobile device and is rotatable in a single plane with respect to the device's housing between a first and second position. A plurality of keys are provided having first indicia in a first orientation relating to key functions in the first position and second indicia in a second orientation relating to key functions in the second position. The indicia are properly oriented with respect to the user in the first and second positions to display a telephone keypad and an alternate keyboard. The arrangement provides greater ergonomic comfort to a user when entering text. The mobile device can assign functions to each key based on a determined keyboard position and can include a weighted end piece to protect the rotatable keyboard from potential damage due to impact.
