    摘要： A rotating assembly retains a data film in a cylindrical configuration, and is scanned by a traversely moving scanner. The scanners operate in the light transmission mode with parallel moving light source and light sensitive heads, one of which is inside the data film cylinder. The film is mounted over a large scan window on the rotating assembly. The portion of the film in the center region of the window deviates from the cylindrical configuration due to unsymmetrical bending moments created by wrapping the normally planar film into a cylindrical shape. Structure internal to the data film cylinder, such as a transparent support sheet, movable hoops, or air bearing devices provide outward radial forces for maintaining a circular cross section along the data film cylinder.

    摘要： A scanning apparatus including a cylindrical member and an optical system. The cylindrical member rotates about a rotational axis and has an outer surface to support a storage phosphor sample thereon. The optical system moves in translation parallel to the rotational axis to scan the sample. The optical system comprises an opening, an excitation beam, an integrating member, and a single detector. The excitation beam is directed through the opening to impinge on a sample and cause light to be emitted from the sample. The integrating member reflects the emitted light using an interior three-dimensional polynomial surface providing diffuse reflection. The single detector is disposed adjacent the integrating member for collecting the reflected emitted light.

A punch of a required configuration moves to a required location toward a plate prepared on an upper tray of a feed/discharge unit. After a hole is punched in the plate by this punch, the plate is fed to a drum. This allows changes in the location of a punched hole in the plate without the need to simply increase the number of punchers when the range of plate sizes mountable on the drum is expanded. If competition in punch standards occurs, the image recorder allows a required puncher to be situated in a desired location.

    摘要： A printing plate is only guided by and wound around peripheral surfaces of cylinders. The cylinders are disposed along an axis of a rotating shaft at predetermined intervals, and support the entire printing plate with substantially equal balance. The printing plate has a degree of firmness, and thus, the printing plate can hold itself in a substantially cylindrical shape even if it is merely rolled in the air. Therefore, the whole printing plate can be accurately wound and held onto a peripheral locus of a predetermined radius coaxial with the rotating shaft merely by disposing guide members as auxiliary guides for positioning and winding parts of the printing plate.

The clamp includes a hinge, attached to the drum and including a pivot axis, and a gripper, formed to have a tip, operative to press the edge of the plate against the drum. The gripper is attached to the hinge so that the center of mass of the gripper is in a direction from the pivot axis that is generally opposite the direction of the tip from the pivot axis.
