摘要: To provide a wavelength multiplexing device and the like that can effectively identify whether impairment occurs at a location before or after a separation and switching module, a wavelength multiplexing device (100) is connected to one or more optical fiber line systems and to one or more optical transceiver systems and is disposed between the optical fiber lines and optical transceivers so as to input and output optical signals, and is provided with the following: first optical switches (12a-12c) that output an optical signal input from an optical line to an optical transceiver; second optical switches (12d-12f) that output an optical signal input from an optical transceiver to an optical fiber line; and a local optical loopback circuit (13) that feeds back and outputs an optical signal input from an optical transceiver (21-23) to that optical transceiver.

摘要: A lighting system according to various embodiments includes a lighting array having a plurality of luminaires and a plurality of sensors. The lighting system also includes a controller configured to operate in at least one from the group including (i) pre commissioning mode and (ii) a commissioning mode. The pre-commissioning mode matches one of the luminaires with a corresponding one of the sensors to create luminaire-sensor pairs and the commissioning mode determines a location of each of the luminaire-sensor pairs.

摘要: The present invention relates to an electrical space switch matrix having m input ports and n output ports, the switch matrix comprising (m.n)/(i.j) switch blocks, each having i input ports and j output ports, where i is less than m and j is less than n; and a plurality of input elements and a plurality of output elements, the plurality of input elements and plurality of output elements being arranged so as to connect the switch blocks to the input and output ports of the switch matrix. In an embodiment of the invention, the input and output elements can be power splitters and power combiners respectively and are arranged so as to include crossover connection paths therebetween, with the result that crossover of connection paths is distributed between the power dividing/combining function and the switching function.

To this end, a metric is dynamically associated with each source and with each destination. Matching of sources to destinations is accomplished by iteratively assigning the destination having the smallest metric of all currently unmatched destinations to the source having the smallest metric of all currently unmatched source.

Each input module 16 has a plurality of first input interconnections 14, a plurality of first interconnected switches 21, and a plurality of first output interconnections 20. Each output module 18 has a plurality of second input interconnections 23, a plurality of second interconnected switches 24, and a plurality of second output interconnections 20. The plurality of input modules X is electrically coupled to the plurality of output modules P, forming a plurality of signal paths 12 having a plurality of interconnected switches K per signal path 12. A method is also provided minimizing the total number of interconnected switches Z within the switch matrix 10 for a particular application. The method comprises determining switch matrix design requirements, calculating the values of X and P, and performing an integer partitioning process.

摘要: Data signals from two or more different communication networks conforming to one or more different transmission protocols are re-formatted into an internal data format for purposes of routing the data signals. The internal format has one or more fields corresponding to terminated overhead data for storing payload data. In one embodiment, a switching system has a network-independent switch and two or more network-dependent port units. Each port unit is configured to interface with a different communication network and to convert data signals between the transmission protocol of the corresponding communication network and the internal format. The switch receives and routes the data signals in the internal format and transmits the routed data signals back to the appropriate port units for re-formatting for transmission to the corresponding communication networks. The switching system can be configured as the interface between two or more different communication networks, including synchronous networks such as SONET networks and asynchronous network such as ATM and LAN networks.
