摘要: The regionally coated noble metal element used in glass production has an uncoated region for contacting a glass melt and an H2-impervious layer or an H2-impervious and O2-impervious layer on a side opposite from the uncoated region, which has a layer thickness ≧1 mm, is heat-resistant, and is either liquid or solid. This layer is made from at least one glass or glass mixture, an at least partly crystallized glass or a ceramic material. The coated noble metal element can be a Danner channel, a Vello draw head, an A-draw head, a Vello needle, a drawdown needle, a discharge ring or a Danner blowpipe. A process for coating a noble metal element to produce the regionally coated noble metal element is also described.

摘要: A method for supplying heat to a melting furnace for forming a molten product using ash-containing fuels. A fuel having an ash component is introduced into a slagging chamber of a slagging combustor and at least partially combusted with a first oxidant mixture and a second oxidant mixture within the slagging chamber. Ash component is collected as a layer of molten slag in the slagging chamber. Slagging combustor gas effluent is passed from the slagging chamber of the slagging combustor into the combustion space of the melting furnace at high temperature to supply heat to form the molten product. Molten slag is withdrawn from the slagging chamber of the slagging combustor and may be selectively introduced into the melting furnace or not introduced into the melting furnace.

摘要: Methods of creating a batch of recycled glass from mixed color glass cullet. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving at a glass plant a weight and color composition percentage of a first batch of mixed color cullet. The glass plant also receives a weight and color composition percentage of a second batch of mixed color cullet. The weight and color composition percentage of the first batch and the second batch are combined to generate a combined weight and composition percentage. The combined weight and composition are percentage are used to generate, automatically at a glass plant, a formulation to produce glass of a desired color.

摘要: A memorial for deceased humans or animals in which the cremated residue or ash is blended or mixed with particulate glass, the mixture being heated to form a liquid pool of glass with the cremation residue or ash dispersed, infused and/or absorbed therein, the molten glass and ash being removed from the heat source after a suitable time period and transferred to a mold in the shape of the memorial, the mold allowed to cool until the memorial sets, the memorial then removed from the mold and reheated in an annealing oven at a suitable temperature for a suitable time so as to eliminate possible cracking and scoring, the memorial once removed from the annealing oven can be further cut, polished, faceted, engraved or the like. The initial mixture of particulate glass and cremation residue and ash can be further combined with a coloring agent if so desired before heating or before transfer to the memorial mold.

摘要: The present invention provides a two stage process of thermal separation of CFCs and HCFCs followed by vitrification of the waste into a commercially viable glass. In the first stage, the hydrogenated compounds are reacted at elevated temperature with water and a metal oxide such as calcium oxide to form a halide salt and carbon dioxide. In the second stage of the process, the brine slag is reacted at elevated temperature with the carbon dioxide from stage one and glass-forming raw materials such as silicon dioxide to produce a glass. The final glass product incorporates the halide into the glass.
