摘要： A portable vehicle humidifier includes an enclosed container with a removable cover, the cover having a plurality of apertures formed therein to permit humid air to be released from the container. A fan is mounted over a large opening in the cover to blow air into the container. A liquid-absorptive pad is positioned within the container to prevent excess movement of water in the container, and to slowly release water vapor into air blowing across the pad. A slide plate positioned over the large opening permits adjustment of the air through the container, and the volume and velocity of humid air exhausted from the container.

摘要： An adsorbent-based air conditioning system for conditioning an air supply to an enclosed space, such as a building, room, or the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle, aircraft, or the like, utilizes interchangeable adsorbent-containing vessels. Two of the vessels are employed to condition the air supply with respect to temperature and humidity while, at the same time a third and, optionally, a fourth vessel are regenerated by drying and cooling to provide replacements vessels as needed. In operation, ambient air is dehumidified by passing through vessel 1 and the moisture collected in the vessel by adsorption. The exiting air may be cooled by means of a heat exchanger, then directed through vessel 2, containing moist adsorbent, for further cooling and humidification. The air is then supplied to the room, or other space to be conditioned. A heat source, such as a solar collector, or auto exhaust heat, is used to provide a stream of hot air which is passed through a third vessel to dry the adsorbent therein by desorption. Vessel 3 is then cooled by passing stream of cool air therethrough. The vessels are interchangeable and rotatable so that: as the adsorbent in vessel 1 becomes saturated, it is replaced by vessel 3, which has been cooled and dried; vessel 2 is replaced by vessel 1 to provide a moist adsorbent to humidify the air passing through, and vessel 3 is replaced by vessel 2, to be regenerated.

摘要： An improved air cooler for use on trailers, campers and the like wherein the cooler has a water supply tank covered by a baffle having a generally horizontal upper surface provided with rib means defining a depression for receiving the lower, continuous margin of a filter. The baffle has holes in the depression to allow water gravitating from the filter to pass through the baffle and return to the tank. Air is driven through the filter by a motor-operated fan coupled to a conical pump extending through a central opening in the baffle defined by a flange having means thereon to prevent water surges in the opening. Water in the tank is elevated by the pump and projected into the airstream flowing toward and into the filter. The air inlet to the housing has a lower boundary which slopes away from the fan to allow moisture to gravitate away from the fan when the cooler is not in use.This invention relates to improvements in air coolers of the evaporative type used on the roof of a trailer, camper and the like.

摘要： This disclosure relates to a rooftop evaporative cooler for cooling the interior of vehicles, such as campers and trailers, whether the vehicle is moving or stationary. The unit includes a rear-facing streamlined housing disposed over a rooftop register. The forward surface of the housing slopes upwardly from the vehicle roof to a horizontal rear portion adjacent a rearopening, louvered entrance port. A suction fan is disposed within the housing between the entrance port and the register for pulling air into the housing through an evaporative pad and for expelling cooled air, guided by the configuration of the housing, through the register into the vehicle. The cooling medium is pumped from a supply tank contained within the housing to a distributor over the pad and collected after it passes through the pad for recirculation. The supply tank is substantially toroidal and is disposed within the lower portion of the housing, surrounding the rooftop register. The pad is constructed of a suitable porous material and the cooling medium is typically water.
