摘要： The present invention pertains fasteners with critical configuration of the barbs, which allow the extraction of the fastener without destruction of the slot and/or the fastener. Further, this critical configuration of the barbs allows the fasteners to be used in slots of various widths and prevents rattling, which would take place in the case of fasteners of the present state of the art. The critical configuration is based on the special dimensions and special shape of the barbs with regard to the parts and the slots involved in assemblies of the fasteners and the parts. The present invention also pertains assemblies of miscellaneous parts connected together by means of the fasteners, as well as vehicles comprising such assemblies. In addition, the present invention comprises fasteners providing a combination of low and high barbs, which combination prevents rattling of the fastener and allows secure attachment on a part, such as a sheet metal, for example.

摘要： A fastener is disclosed for sealed engagement with a workpiece. The fastener has a head having a lower face, and a shank extends from the lower surface of the head. A groove is formed in the lower surface, the groove having an inner wall and an outer wall. The inner wall has a proximal end which is adjacent the lower surface of the head and which is disposed radially remotely from the shank. A sealing element, such as an O-ring, is disposed at least partially within the groove. The groove may be configured so that a distal end of the inner wall is near to the axis of the shank than is the proximal end of the inner wall.

When the nipple is screwed into an engine block the ribs form a seal with the block wall to resist leakage from the block and to damp the transmission of vibrational forces from the block to the closure plug which tend to unscrew the closure plug from the block.

摘要： A preassembled fastener assembly having a washer axially captivated on a threaded screw. The washer includes an elongated cylindrical sleeve, a radially outwardly directed flange and at least two inwardly extending detents within the sleeve to yieldably engage a shoulder on the threaded screw to hold the parts together. The detents are provided with elongated flattened inwardly extending surfaces. When assembled, the screw tip extends substantially outward of the washer sleeve and beyond the grommet. Methods of forming the detents are disclosed.

摘要： A self-sealing washer for use on a fluid containing housing includes a semi-rigid circular member having a horizontal portion and a relatively short vertical portion disposed at the distal edge thereof suitable to be received into a channel provided on a flat surface of the housing. The horizontal portion of the circular member includes a centrally disposed through aperture to receive the screw therein, the screw has a relatively large head portion. A first elevation portion is provided on the circular member which is disposed remote from the distal edge and a second elevation portion generally centrally disposed within the first elevation portion which terminates in a relatively sharp edge. Preferably the second elevation portion is higher than the first elevation portion.

摘要： A mechanism casing for a hydraulic motor comprises a casing body having a face for application of a lid. The lid is applied tightly on the casing body face and fastened to the casing body by screws via screwheads thereof tightened against an outer face of the lid. The screws pass through the lid via screw passages with circumferential clearance between the screws and screw passages. An O-ring is interposed between the casing body and the lid. At least one of the screw passages are conduit screw passages which open out within a perimeter defined by the O-ring. The conduit screw passages open out into cavities formed in one of either the casing body or the lid, and through which cavities the conduit screw passages permanently communicate with the enclosure defined by the casing. When the screwheads are in an untightened position with respect to the outer face of the lid, fluid communication is effected between said enclosure and the outside of the mechanism casing by way of fluid conduits, which comprise one of the cavities and one of the conduit screw passages.

摘要： A screw includes a metal portion having a threaded shank adapted to be threaded into a workpiece, a head and an annular flange between the head and the shank. The surface of the metal head and the upper surface of the metal flange are irregular so that, when a plastic portion is molded around the head and flange of the metal portion, the metal and plastic portions are relatively fixed to each other. The plastic portion includes a thin skirt which extends around the periphery of the flange and further includes a thin radially extending section which mates with an annular rib extending around the periphery of the underside of the flange to reduce the possibility of failure of the plastic portion as that portion is forced against a workpiece. The section of the plastic portion extending radially under the flange is formed with depending rings which deform and form a seal as the fastener is threaded down to bring the radially extending section toward engagement with the workpiece.
