    摘要: A coupling device provides a pre-tensioned coupling between a first member and a second member. The members are arranged to define a sealed compartment. A piston is housed within the compartment and is translated between the first member and the second member. A first ratchet lock is mounted within the second member and on translation of the piston, the first ratchet lock engages with the piston. A second ratchet is mounted within the second member and, on translation of the piston into the second member, the piston engages with the ratchet. The second ratchet is mounted on a piston, and translation of the second ratchet on the piston applies a tensile force to the first piston to tension or pre-tension the piston. As the ratchets substantially prevent reverse movement of the piston, the tensile force is retained.

    摘要: A fastener system and method of inserting it, that includes a screw or bolt having two interleaved helical threads, which brackets or forms a groove for a helicoil. The helicoil expands and torques by various means to maintain hold and purchase between the screw coil combination and the substrate into which the screw and helicoil are inserted even when the substrate recedes a significant distance from the screw and helicoil combination. The fastener system includes means for latching the tilt of the coil so as to minimize the constraining forces and optimize the motion of the helicoil, that results in the screw or bolt being pushed into the substrate. The fastener may be actuated after it has been partly or completely turned into the substrate.

The screw comprises, between its threaded portion and its fusible portion, a portion for blocking the screw in rotation, cooperating with a complementary blocking portion provided in the bore. By means of the invention, the torsional torque related to the tightening of the screw is not transmitted to its fusible portion.

    摘要: An internal combustion engine connecting rod is designed with bolts having a minimum required strength. A strength safety factor Sfa is calculated based on an axial strength limit load FX of the bolt and the maximum load FB to be born by the bolt due to a piston inertia force (Sfa=FX/FB) acting on the connecting rod. A mating surface separation safety factor Sfb is calculated based on the tensile load (FB−FC) resulting from the piston inertia force and the load FE carried by the bolts at a mating surface separation limit, i.e., the maximum bolt load FE at which the connecting rod main body and the cap remain in contact without separating (Sfb=FE/(FB−FC)). The mating surface separation safety factor Sfb of the connecting rod is set to be equal to or larger than the strength safety factor Sfa of the bolts (Sfb≧Sfa).

    摘要: A fastening bolt fastens flanges between a bolt head and a nut attached on the threaded portion of the shaft via spherical washers. The fastening bolt has a cavity formed within the shaft. By application of pressure in the cavity with a hydraulic fluid supplied through a hydraulic pressure port in a plug, the shaft is extended and the fastening bolt becomes unfastened condition. In the unfastened condition, a gap is created between flange and nut, and the nut and the fastening bolt are free to rotate each other, therefore, the nut can be removed easily by hand from the fastening bolt, even the bolt is large in size. The fastening force is adjustable by the width of the gap before releasing hydraulic pressure in the cavity. By releasing hydraulic pressure in the cavity, the fastened condition is obtained. Conversion between fastened condition and unfastened condition can be made quickly and easily.
