摘要： A promotional form is provided which includes a detachable element received within the surrounding margin of a base sheet, the base sheet being folded and sealed around one side of the detachable element to initially conceal a message, question or other indicia hidden until the detachable element is at least partially removed. The promotional form may include a plurality of detachable elements having correlated indicia printed on an exposed side and either on the concealed side of the element or in a portion of the opposing form section in registry with the detachable element. A game or educational piece may be inexpensively provided by correlating different indicia messages corresponding to respective detachable elements, so that in response to an initial query or instruction, a plurality of possible results may be revealed, leading in turn to an outcome revealed by removal of a further detachable element. Tampering with the form is revealed when multiple detachable elements corresponding to alternate results are removed, or the adhesive bonding the facing form sections is disturbed.

The packaging body or the recording sheets include humidity and temperature indicators which allows the degradation of the recording sheets to be compensated for in the course of thermal printing. A detection cutout is formed in the packaging body, for receiving insertion of a sheet remainder counter. The sheet remainder counter is allowed to push the recording sheets in a thickness direction thereof. The sheet remainder counter is adapted to detect a number of remaining ones of the recording sheets in the packaging body.

The web is applied and adhered to the base sheet whereby the surrounding margin of the web is recessed from the circumscribing edge of the base sheet. The continuous form can be fan-folded without binding or interference as the fold lines of the base sheet are free from interference by the web, The base sheet may be coated with carbonless transfer media as may be an insert ply positioned between the web and the base sheet to permit inscriptions on the base sheet to be transferred to a ply which may be subsequently removed.

摘要： A system for producing a laminated facsimile sheet assembly to cover and conceal a facsimile message on a message sheet comprises a supply of message sheet material which may be a roll of sheet material. A printing head is disposed to print a message on a section of the sheet material. A supply of cover sheet material is disposed to superimposed a cover sheet on the recorded sheet to the message sheet. The attachment means can be spots of pressure sensitive adhesive preapplied in a predetermined pattern to one side of the cover sheet. The over sheet can be part of a roll or one of a pile thereof; other sides of the cover sheets have slippery surfaces to prevent the cover sheets from sticking to each other in a pile. A cutter device can be disposed to cut the message sheets one at a time from the roll of message sheet material; or it can cut both the message sheets one at a time from the roll of message sheet material; or it can cut both the message sheet and superimposed cover sheet taken from a roll thereof. The attachment means can be staples or other attachment means in addition to or instead of the pressure sensitive adhesive spots. The supply of cover sheet material can be a roll with the pressure sensitive adhesive spots applied to one side of the sheet material. The other side of the sheet material will be slippery to prevent coils in the roll of cover sheet material from sticking to each other.

Pressure seal adhesive formed along the margins of the paper sheet of the intermediate holds the panels together once C-folded. Masking is applied on panel faces as necessary in order to obscure all interior information of the mailer.

摘要： In a method of and apparatus for adhesive transfer, an image receiving web comprising a belt-shaped, release agent coated paper and a plurality of transfer sheets having adhesive surfaces and put side by side on the release agent coated paper in the longitudinal direction thereof is used. The transfer sheets are separated one after another from the release agent coated paper, and each separated transfer sheet is wound around a transfer roller with the adhesive surface facing out. The transfer roller is moved to contact a photosensitive material drum carrying a toner image formed thereon, and the toner image is transferred from the photosensitive material drum to the adhesive surface of the transfer sheet while the transfer roller and the photosensitive material drum are rotated. The transfer roller is then moved to contact a push roller, and a supporting sheet is passed together with the transfer sheet between the transfer roller and the push roller, thereby to adhere the transfer sheet to the supporting sheet.

摘要： A set of sheets delivered seriatim from a copier/duplicator or other source are advanced along a sheet path leading from an input station to an assembly station where a booklet is formed. As a sheet is moved along the path a line of adhesive is applied to one surface of the sheet adjacent to one side edge of the sheet. In the assembly station the sheets are jogged to align the sheets of the set and then pressure is applied to the sheets over the line of adhesive. When the entire set has been bound together into a booklet, the booklet is removed from the assembly station and delivered to an output station, such as a tote tray.

摘要： One of the most effective methods of marketing a new product is to sample it, get it into the hands of millions of prospective customers so they can test it, feel it, taste it or smell it. Product sampling is practiced, however, only when it can be done economically. The present invention relates to the economical sampling of thin absorbent tissues such as toilet tissue, paper toweling, facial tissue and similar thin, lightweight products. The present invention reduces the cost of hand tipping samples of absorbent paper tissues from approximately $60.00 per 1,000 to below $9.00 per 1,000. This 85% reduction in costs will enable tissue producers to sample their products to more consumers so they can test them prior to buying. In the present invention, a printed front cover, the tissue sample or samples, and a printed back cover are delivered to a collator in continuous ribbons. The ribbons are glued together on their "stub edge" so they become a single tissue/sampler, perforated, cut to length and trimmed at speeds ranging from 8,000 to 16,000 tissue/samplers per hour. Several methods of binding tissue/samplers have been developed, including the use of hot and cold glue systems, and spot and strip gluing. The invention is applicable to both coated and uncoated papers for the front and back covers.
