    摘要: A rotary plug valve actuator comprising a mounting bracket, a ball screw mechanism pivotably mounted to the mounting bracket and a lever pivotably mounted to the ball screw mechanism. The ball screw mechanism includes a ball screw shaft and a ball nut. The ball nut moves axially on the ball screw shaft when the ball screw shaft is rotated. The lever converts the axial movement of the ball nut to rotary motion. In that way, rotation of the ball screw shaft will in turn actuate the rotary plug valve. An associated rotary plug valve assembly and an associated method of actuating a rotary plug valve are also provided.

    摘要: A firecheck to be installed in a combustible fuel line. The firecheck includes a casing having a gas inlet and an outlet and a burner screen is located between the inlet and outlet. A main control valve is disposed at the inlet and is biased to the closed position by a spring loaded arm. The control valve can be manually opened by a hand knob which operates through a drive mechanism, including two clutch units, and the valve is locked in the open position by a ratchet mechanism. One clutch unit can be manually disengaged to permit the control valve to close under the biasing force of the spring loaded arm, while the second clutch unit is disengaged to effect closing of the control valve by deflection of a bimetallic element located downstream and adjacent the burner screen. The outlet of the casing is provided with a pair of windows, each of which is adapted to be closed by a pivotable gate. On a detonation downstream the shock wave acts to pivot the gates to the closed position to retard the propagation of the shock wave and flame, and the flame will burn on the downstream side of the screen heating the bimetallic element to thereby close the main control valve and shut off the flow of the combustible fuel mixture.

    摘要: Valve controllers and methods of their use are described. Valve controllers of the type described herein can be used to operate valves that are out of manual reach by the operator. One embodiment of a valve controller includes proximal and distal controller heads connected to each other via a hollow elongate shaft. Each of the proximal and distal controller heads includes a rotatable pulley wheel that is connected to a valve control engagement member for engaging a handle of a valve operable to shift the valve from a first position to a second position. The rotation of the proximal and distal pulley wheels, and thereby the proximal and distal engagement members, is coupled via a cord that runs through the hollow elongate shaft and around a circumferential portion of each pulley wheel. In one general aspect, a user can operate a valve by positioning the distal valve control engagement member of the distal controller head over the valve handle, and rotating the proximal engagement member, causing the distal engagement member, and thereby the valve handle, to shift.

    摘要: A shaft is rotatable in a housing to several detented positions, established by a detent wheel and spring pressed detent balls, and is provided with a pinion gear which drives a gear rack on a valve carriage guided for linear movement along a spacer. A rubber valve on the carriage is movable across vacuum valve ports to perform vacuum switching functions. A bearing on the carriage moves along a slot in the spacer and carries an idler gear which rolls along a gear rack on the housing and drives a gear rack on an electrical carriage, slidable along the spacer. Fan and clutch contactors are movable with the electrical carriage across fixed contacts to perform electrical switching functions. The detent balls and springs can be inserted through access slots from outside the housing. The housing has two mounting members with latching hooks projecting forwardly for insertion into slots in a supporting panel. A boss on the housing around the shaft is insertable into an opening in the panel. The location of the boss forms a triangle with the locations of the hooks, whereby rotation of the housing on the panel is prevented. The hooks are located and configured to afford a tight interference fit with the panel. A uniquely located keying pin mates with a keying opening in the panel. Another uniquely located keying pin on the valve carriage mates with a keying opening in the valve to preclude assembly of an incorrect valve. An assembly fixture is adapted to be used for assembling the switch and is provided with an alignment pin adapted to extend through openings in the front housing wall, the clutch contactor and the electrical carriage as well as into a blind opening in the bearing, to insure correct assembly. A uniquely located keying tab on the valve carriage is movable through a keying slot in a flange on the housing, during the assembly, to preclude the assembly of an incorrect carriage.

    摘要: Two control valve housings each have a longitudinal bore receiving a valve spool. The housings are clamped together by two pairs of bolts located one on each side of the bores. Formed on one of the parts at the interface of the two parts and at opposite sides of each bolt is a pair of roughened surface areas which are prepared by milling or stamping. By means of such a surface preparing method projections are created which are deformed and serve as spacers between the two parts when they are clamped together. The two parts then touch themselves only in the roughened surface areas. Thus, when the two parts are clamped together any distortion in the area of the longitudinal bore is avoided and the valve spool can move in the longitudinal bore, noneffected by the force acting on the two parts.
