Abstract:
A machining installation for workpieces comprises a workpiece positioning device comprising a workpiece holder pivot unit as well as a tool positioning device comprising a tool holder pivot unit. The workpiece holder pivot unit is designed such that a workpiece holder is pivotable about at least three and no more than four workpiece holder pivot axes. Moreover, the tool holder pivot unit is designed such that a tool holder is pivotable about no more than two tool holder pivot axes. The machining installation has a simple design and ensures flexible and accurate machining of workpieces.
Abstract:
In apparatus for exchanging tools between a tool magazine having a plurality of tool pots and the spindle of a machine tool, wherein the axes of the tool pots are perpendicular to the axis of the spindle, there are provided a tool exchange arm having tool holding means on both ends, an arm supporting device having an arm driving mechanism for rotating the tool exchange arm and reciprocating the same toward and away from a rotary shaft provided for the arm supporting device, an actuator for swinging the arm supporting device about a pivot shaft, and an actuator for reciprocating the arm supporting device in a direction perpendicular to the pivot shaft.
Abstract:
A numerically controlled automatic tool changing machining center is provided with a rotary driven spindle concentric within which is a spindle bar that may be reciprocated out from or into the spindle by a hydraulic cylinder. Located at the forward end of the spindle bar is a tool receiving socket which is operative to releaseably engage the shank of a single toolholder or multiple spindle toolhead transferred to the spindle bar from the machine tool storage magazine by a tool transfer arm. When a large, single toolholder is engaged by the spindle bar, the spindle bar is retracted into the spindle to urge the large single toolholder against the nose of the spindle. In the case of a multiple spindle toolhead being engaged by the spindle bar, the spindle bar is retracted into the spindle to urge the multiple spindle toolhead against the spindlehead so that locating pins extending rearwardly from the multiple spindle toolhead body seat in complementary locating cones spaced about the spindle on spindlehead to secure the multiple spindle toolhead body against rotation.
Abstract:
To effect the automatic changing of tools rapidly and provide a large number of tool pots with a small space in an automatically controlled machine tool, an automatic tool changing apparatus is positioned between the magazine proper and the spindle axis and an arm having a tool gripping claw at each end thereof is adapted to engage and disengage with the tools perpendicularly to the tool axis and the spindle axis, whereby the tool changing operation is accomplished by a series of movements including forward and backward movements, in-and-out movements, half-turn movements and spiral movements.
Abstract:
A TOOL CHANGING DEVICE FOR A MACHINE TOOL. THE DEVICE HAS A TOOL DRUM MOUNTED ON A TOOL DRUM MOUNTING COLUMN WHICH IS DIFFERENT FROM THE COLUMN THAT CARRIES THE HEADSTOCK. A SWING ARM IS PIVOTALLY CONNECTED TO THE HEADSTOCK AND A TOOL CHANGING ARM IS ROTATABLY MOUNTED ON THE SWING ARM. THE TOOL DRUM IS SYNCHRONOUSLY MOVED WITH THE HEADSTOCK AND THE SWING ARM IS ADAPTED TO TRANSFER THE TOOLS BETWEEN THE TOOL DRUM AND THE MAIN SPINDLE OF THE HEADSTOCK.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of fitting a machine tool with tools which are cooled by a free-flowing medium during operation of the machine tool, comprising the following method steps: a plurality of various tools are provided in order to carry out successive machining operations on a workpiece; a plurality of various nozzle devices are provided, each of which can be fitted together with a specific tool and connected to a medium source and has such a medium jet geometry that the respective medium jets strike locations where the machining takes place; a specific nozzle device is in each case fitted together with a specific tool and connected to the medium source before the operation of the machine tool is started.
Abstract:
In the case of a machine tool which comprises at least one working spindle with a tool-holding fixture for tool holders carrying tools, and a tool changer with a gripper for the tool holders in order to transfer the tool holders between their magazine position, which is spaced apart from the tool-holding fixture, and their working position in the tool-holding fixture, a clamping system with a clamping apparatus by means of which a tool holder inserted into the tool-holding fixture is fixed is arranged in the working spindle, the clamping system additionally comprising a retaining apparatus for a tool holder situated in the tool-holding fixture. In the case of a method carried out on this machine tool, the clamping system carries out a retaining operation which temporally precedes the clamping operation in order to grasp the tool holder inserted into the tool-holding fixture before the clamping apparatus fixes the tool holder. Furthermore, an unblocking operation which temporally follows the release operation is carried out in order, after the release of the clamping apparatus, still to retain the tool holder in the tool-holding fixture until it is ejected.
Abstract:
A knife picking device includes a base member which is connected to a linear guide frame. The linear guide frame is movably connected to a linear guide board in two perpendicular directions. A block is connected to the base member and a cylindrical member movably and rotatably extends through the block. The cylindrical member has a spiral groove and a connection device actuated by a first cylinder is connected between the base member and the block. The connection device is engaged with the spiral groove and a second cylinder is connected to the cylindrical member. An arm activated by a third cylinder is connected to the base member and the linear guide frame. The second cylinder is moved to a desired position of a knife receiving unit by operating the first cylinder and the third cylinder.
