Abstract:
A dual mode pistol grip grease gun that operates in either the volume mode or the pressure mode. The grease gun includes a cylinder head having a handle attached thereto. Attached to the cylinder head via a shiftable link is a lever, which has a slot at one end. The shiftable link is disposed in the slot of the lever, and its position therein defines whether the grease gun is in the volume or the pressure mode. The shape of the slot is such that, when the grease gun is in volume mode and when the lever is fully pressed toward the handle, an angle defined by a first axis (defined as a line connecting a pivot point of a connection of the link to the cylinder head and a pivot point of a connection of the link to an end of the slot defining volume mode) and a second axis (defined as a line connecting the pivot point of the connection of the link to the end of the slot defining volume mode and a point along a bottom curve of the slot where the concavity of the curve changes) is approximately ten degrees. The shape of the slot, roller and tabs on the link allow for ease of shifting.

A controlling device of a tunable filter includes a base, a tunable filter on the base along an optical path between first and second optical fibers, a holder rotatably installed on the base to support the tunable filter, a driving unit installed on the base for providing a rotational force, a speed reducing device, and a rotating unit for rotating the holder in accordance with the linear movement of the movable member. The speed reducing device has a worm gear extending from a rotating shaft of the driving unit, and a movable member provided with a threaded hole engaged with the worm gear to allow reciprocal movement along the worm gear according to the rotation direction of the worm gear.
Abstract:
A computer includes a base unit and an upper unit having anterior and posterior housing members for enclosing all electronic components of the computer, such as an LCD display, system board, various drives, sound card, speakers, and modem. The base unit has dimensions of only about 11 inches by 7 inches and can easily be placed in small areas. Unlike a typical desk-top computer which has external cords or cables connecting the display to a main casing, the computer only requires a single power cable and a telephone cord and has a light weight which permits the computer to be easily transported to different locations. The upper unit can pivot relative to the base unit by simply pulling or pushing the upper unit with one hand to the desired angle and then releasing the upper unit. The base unit frictionally engages the upper unit to maintain the upper unit at the desired angle. The computer has a unique configuration in which input/output connectors of a typical motherboard are placed on a separate riser board positioned perpendicular to the system board. The system board in the computer, consequently, is substantially reduced in size thereby allowing a reduction in the computer's overall size.

The LCD display is mounted to a support frame with a plurality of fasteners. A plurality of spring members are inserted between the LCD display and the support frame for absorbing pressures exerted on the display. The fasteners have a length which prevent the LCD display from contacting the housing.
Abstract:
A guide rocker (5) for actuating and for controlling displacement of a slide cover of a sun roof for motor vehicle, which is characterized by being formed as a laminar, usable on both side, form-stable sandwich structure of several plates of different materials. At least one reinforcing plate (16), formed of a punched-out sheet metal, tightly abuts one side surface of a plastic rocker body (15) having a guide slot (11) for receiving a guide pin (10) secured in the rear slide block (9) of the sliding cover (1). The reinforcing plate has a slot (17), which corresponds to the guide slot (11) but has a larger slot width and in which is form-locking received an edge projection that surrounds the guide slot (11), projects outwardly from the rocker body (15), and is formed as one piece therewith.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a windshield wiper arrangement including a windshield wiper arm (2) the active length of which varies in the course of the sweeping movement, characterized in that it includes: motor means including a first motor shaft (26) given a first alternating rotation motion and a second motor shaft (34) given a second alternating rotation motion, the amplitude of the alternating rotation of the second shaft (34) being greater than that of the first shaft; a crank (24) coupled for rotation onto the second motor shaft on the one hand, and on the other hand articulated onto said arm (2); an arm support element (6) coupled for rotation onto the first motor shaft (26); and coupling means between the support element (6) and the arm (2) permitting a translation motion of the arm (2) on said support element (6) in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal dimension of the arm (2).
Abstract:
An enclosed adjustable servo-actuator is provided. This servo-actuator includes an elongated hollow cylinder; a first closed end member; a second closed end member; a through passageway is provided in each closed end member; an enclosed housing attached exterior of the hollow cylinder at or near the center of the cylinder, said housing adapted to comunicate with the interior of the hollow cylinder; an elongated piston assembly is slidably carries interior of said hollow cylinder; A torque arm is arrayed to engage said piston assembly by means of a closed-end transverse groove provided in said piston assembly; an output shaft is journaled in said enclosed housing, said output shaft engages said torque arm for converting the linear displacement of the piston to an arcuate rotation of said output shaft; and an adjustment means is provided to selectively limit the arcuate rotation of the output shaft.
Abstract:
A fire-resistant valve 10 with a valve stem 40 mounted for linear motion through a valve stem bore 41 in the valve body 12 and connected to a valve element 20 by a connection means which effects movement of the valve element 20 between its valve open and its valve closed positions in response to axial linear motion of the valve stem 40. The valve includes a valve stem actuator 46 and a valve stem seal assembly comprising a primary seal in the form of an axially extensible and compressible metallic bellows 50 disposed in sleeved relation to the valve stem 40. The bellows is connected at one end by an annular weld 41 to the valve stem and at its other end by an annular weld 52 to the valve body in encircling relation to the valve stem and valve stem bore so as to effect a fluid-tight, gas-tight seal therebetween. A packing structure mounted in the annulus between the valve stem and wall of the valve stem bore provides a secondary valve stem seal.
