Abstract:
A double-acting pipe cutting band saw apparatus and method for using the same are capable of cutting a relatively large workpiece with a relatively small size band saw blade, furthermore, it improves the cutting efficiency and life of the band saw blade. Since the pipe to be cut is put on a rotary table which is mounted a slide table, it can be continuously rotated and moved with respect to the band saw assembly during the cutting operation. Hence, the pipe to be cut can be completely cut by a band saw blade whose operable cutting length of the band saw blade does not have to be larger than the diameter of the pipe, which reduces cutting time while improving cutting efficiency. The service life of the band saw blade is extended since the cutting operation is not just performed by the rotation of the band saw blade.

Abstract:
A machine tool circular cutting supplementary apparatus comprises an upright support vertically slidably and horizontally rotatably mounted in the worktable of a machine tool, a locating block fastened to the top of the upright support, a horizontal rod slidably inserted through a transverse through hole in the locating block and locked with lock means, and a positioning member mounted on one end of the horizontal rod member and provided with a tip being engaged with the center of the circle drawn on the workpiece to be cut by the machine tool.
Abstract:
A fixture for use with a cutting tool, such as a saw or sander, and adapted to cut perfect circles in a workpiece. The fixture has a base which is adapted to be positioned on a work table in a predetermined relationship with respect to the cutting tool. A pivot arm is supported on the base at a first pivot point such that the pivot arm pivots on the base toward or away from the cutting tool in an arc centered at the first pivot point. A second pivot point is formed on the pivot arm and is adapted to provide a center point about which the workpiece is rotated. Stop means defines a working position for the pivot arm in which the workpiece center and the cutting tool are displaced by a distance corresponding to the radius to be cut. The operator pivots the pivot arm toward the stop and rotates the workpiece about the second pivot point so as to bring the cutting tool into the workpiece to the defined radius, following which continued rotation of the workpiece about the second pivot results in cutting of a perfect circle.
Abstract:
A guide member has a linearly extending guide groove formed therein. A pivot pin is guided in the guide groove in perpendicular relation with the guide member and is releasably securable to the guide member at a selected point of the guide groove. A mounting clamp releasably secures the guide member to the miter groove of the table of a motor-driven saw blade in a manner whereby the guide member abuts the planar work surface of the table with the guide groove perpendicular to the miter groove and the pivot pin extending perpendicularly to the work surface at a selected distance from the saw blade, so that a workpiece rotatably mounted on the pivot pin and parallel to the work surface is cut in a circle by the saw blade as the workpiece is rotated, the diameter of the circle being twice the distance of the pivot pin from the saw blade.
Abstract:
The machine comprises an operating arm accommodated with a pair of horizontally extending shoulders and is rockingly supported by a pin pivoted on parallel vertical supporting standards or uprights for said shoulders and forming part of the machine bedplate. The pin may be vertically moved along slots formed on said standards or uprights. The working plane is horizontal and may be rotated about a vertical axis and with said shoulders forms a cavity. Said plane has attached thereon the several counter-tools for the punching, nibbling and cutting operations and peripherally has cut profiles for rounding off. A mechanism is carried by the horizontal shoulders to cause the rocking movement for said operating arm and relative associated toolholders.
Abstract:
Apparatus for positioning the center points of circular arcs for accurately and precisely cutting such arcs in work pieces with band saws and the like. The device includes a base secured to the work support table of the saw and extending away from the saw blade. An arm is mounted at the end of the base, remote from the blade, and is spaced above the base. Also included are means with the arm for movably mounting a trammel point which engages and holds the center of the arc to be cut either on the work piece itself or on a holder therefor to determine the radius of the arc, as well as manual and power means for rotating the work piece about the trammel point.
