    摘要: A cut-off mechanism for forming metal parts from elongate stock and the like includes a first jaw having a first cutting surface that extends from a sharpened cutting edge. A second jaw has a second cutting surface that extends from a sharpened cutting edge. A connector pivotally interconnects the first and second jaws in a side-by-side relationship at a location spaced apart from the first and second cutting surfaces. The connector positions the leading edges of the first and second cutting surfaces in close planar alignment to shear cut stock positioned therebetween. The cutting edge of the first cutting surface has a hook-shaped side elevational configuration extending arcuately between an outer tip portion thereof and an inner base portion thereof. When the first and second jaws are pivotally converged, stock positioned between the first and second cutting surfaces adjacent the outer tip portion of the cutting edge of the first cutting surface is incrementally shear cut through its entire thickness to cleanly sever the same to length with minimal jolt.

    摘要: A shear type miter cutter has a pivotal blade and four linearly sliding blades. The linearly sliding blades may be manually linearly positioned to preset locations for a particular size or type of stock material. The linearly sliding blades are further linearly adjusted automatically upon rotation of a stock material support fence, to ensure optimum alignment between the pivotal blade and the linearly sliding blades. The automatic adjustment allows an operator to make rapid changes in cut angles for a given stock material, while still yielding finished cut edges of high quality and precise angular orientation. A variety of designs for rapidly manually setting the cutter to specific preset angles and specific stock materials are also disclosed.

    摘要: The cutting tool has a circular blade having a center hole and a plurality of pivot holes spaced apart on a common radius with a handle fixed to the center hole and one of said pivot holes. A pivot shaft extends between spaced side plates and the blade is mounted on said pivot shaft. Each side plate has a throat and an anvil welded to each side plate at the rear lower corner of the throat. Each anvil has a bed plate and a back plate on which and against which the material to be cut is positioned. A blade guard depends from the handle and is contoured to lie close to the adjacent circumference of the blade and extend across the throat when the handle is in its lowermost position.

    摘要: A shear for cutting bar stock includes upper and lower cutting blade supports each having a cutting blade, and a hold-down member, all pivotally connected about a working bearing. This assembly is pivotally mounted about a second bearing or pivot axis on one end of a frame of the shear, and is height-adjustable by a lockable hydraulic actuator attached to the upper cutting blade support at the opposite end of the shear, to provide vertical adjustability of the cutting point with minimal horizontal or angular displacement thereof. Preferably, the two pivot axes and the cutting point are coplanar. The upper cutting blade support is pivoted relative to the lower one by a hydraulic actuator engaging the upper support at one upper part thereof which is not so coplanar, to provide both a relatively long lever arm and a relatively long cutting arm for minimizing arcuation of the cutting movement. One cutting blade is adjustable within its support for optimum positioning taking into account the shape of the stock. The hold-down member is hydraulically locked into position with the lower (thrusting) cutting blade and moves therewith relative to the upper (contact) cutting blade, providing a three-point support to yield a clean cut.
