摘要： A device for cutting pieces of material comprising a base, a bridge assembly and a lever arm. The bridge assembly includes a gear assembly operatively connected to the base. The lever arm is coupled to the gear assembly, and a linking member is coupled to the gear assembly; A material clamp is operatively connected to the linking member, and a cutting blade is operatively connected to the linking member. The movement of the lever arm of the first position towards the second position results in the gear assembly and the linking member cooperating to cause the material clamp to move towards the base and affix the position of pieces of material located between the base and the material clamp. The cutting blade comes into contact with and severs the pieces of material after the position of the pieces of material has been fixed by the material clamp.

摘要： Glass gob shearing apparatus having opposed shear blades that reciprocate along generally parallel, opposed horizontal paths to periodically bring the shearing ends of the shear blades into partly overlapping contact with one another, to thereby shear a gob of molten glass from a stream of molten glass flowing downwardly between the shear blades. Contact loads between the shear blades are reduced by placing a shim between one of the shear blades, namely the shear blade that is the lower of the shear blades when they are in contact with each other, to thereby impart a slight downward inclination to such shear blade with respect to the other shear blade. Contact loads between the shear blades are further reduced by resiliently mounting the other shear blade to the blade holder to which it is attached, and this is done by positioning curved spring washers between the other shear blade and the blade holder to which it is attached.

摘要： A device for cutting glass for example separating a drop or portion of a plastic glass skein emerging from a feeder characterized by having two shear arms mounted for rotation in a common frame, each of the shear arms being provided with a knife at its extreme end and a device for periodically moving the arms in a pincher-like closing movement toward one another and away from one another so that the knives can execute a cutting process. The device for periodically moving includes a device for forming a periodic working cycle preferably comprising at least one cam having one segment forming a working stage of a working cycle and a second segment forming an idle stage. By varying the speed of rotation of the cam while the follower is in the second stage, a time delay between the closing of the knives can be adjusted without changing the speed of movement during a cutting stage.

摘要： A tree shear head includes a frame which supports a pair of parallel crank shafts which are respectively linked to a pair of shear blades for moving the latter together into the trunk of a tree being sheared. The crank shafts are rotated by means of an actuator including a cylinder in which a pair of piston and piston rod units are mounted with the rods projecting oppositely and being respectively pivotally connected to a pair of crank arms respectively formed integrally with the pair of crank shafts. To prevent the cylinder of the actuator from shifting axially along the piston rods, a pair of links are connected between the cylinder and the frame, and for preventing the cylinder from rotating about the piston rods, a pair of rollers are mounted on the cylinder and engage the frame.
