摘要: A tarp system for controlling psylla and other orchard pests that includes two or more tarps sized and shaped to fit the width of an orchard row, a roller with handle, a container, oil, a pole apparatus for dislodging pests, and a broom. A method for using the tarp system includes grounding a first tarp below a tree, saturating a roller with oil in the container, rolling oil onto the tarp with the roller, and tapping tree branches over the tarp to dislodge pests on to the tarp, placing a second tarp slightly under the first tarp, sweeping debris from the first tarp to the second tarp, and disposing of the second tarp.

摘要: A method of analyzing shipments of goods includes receiving, by a transceiver of a shipment analysis system, a heat map template, where the heat map template is an expected heat map for a plurality of packages in a shipment. The method also includes directing electromagnetic radiation from an electromagnetic radiation source to the package to heat any ferromagnetic material in or on a package. The method also includes generating, by a processor of the shipment analysis system, a heat map based on the heating of any ferromagnetic material in or on the package. The method further includes generating, by the processor, an alert responsive to a determination that the generated heat map does not match the heat map template. The alert indicates that the package is not one of the plurality of packages in the shipment.

摘要: A mobile system for exterminating insects includes a transportable mobile frame with a conveyance device mounted to the frame, a plate mounted adjacent to an opening to the conveyance device, and a liquid supply and distribution system configured to apply a volume of liquid on a surface of the plate and thereby wet the surface of the plate. The opening to the conveyance device receives insects that are demobilized by contact with the wetted surface of the plate and fall into the conveyance device. The conveyance device exterminates the demobilized insects and conveys the exterminated insects toward a discharge from the mobile system. A motorized vehicle such as a tractor with a tow bar system can pull the mobile system across an open field. In at least one embodiment, insects are exterminated through mechanical means without the use of electrocution.

摘要: A fly exterminating device for eliminating a conglomerate of flies, eggs, and larvae utilizes a blade assembly and a static-air vacuum-blower assembly. The blade assembly traverses along a stanchion line, scraping the concrete curb clean of eggs and larvae. Meanwhile, the static-air vacuum-blower assembly captures flies above the feed along the stanchion line and expels the flies away from the feed; along with the removed eggs and larvae. The blade assembly and the static-air vacuum-blower assembly are attached to a utility vehicle via a base frame. An extension arm assembly, pivotally connected in between the base frame and the blade assembly, allows the blade assembly to be raised and lowered, along with a vacuum hood that captures the flies and a blower nozzle that expels the flies. The extension arm assembly and the blade assembly are uniquely designed to traverse around stanchions with no interference.

摘要: A flying insect trapping device configured to be used with a fuel supply containing combustible fuel. The device may include a supporting frame; an insect trap chamber carried on the supporting frame; and a combustion device which may also be carried on the supporting frame. The combustion device comprises an inlet port for connection with the fuel supply, an exhaust port, and a combustion chamber communicating the inlet port with the exhaust port. The inlet port enables the fuel from the fuel supply to flow into the combustion chamber for continuous combustion therein to create an exhaust gas within the combustion chamber. The combustion device further includes a catalyst element disposed within the combustion chamber. The catalyst element has a catalyst body with a plurality of essentially linear elongated conduits for enabling the exhaust gas created in the combustion chamber to flow therethrough towards the exhaust port. The catalyst body includes a catalytically active material that, during operation, converts carbon monoxide in the exhaust gas to carbon dioxide as the exhaust gas flows through the elongated conduits. An insect inlet is communicated with the insect trap chamber to enable flying insects to enter the trap chamber through the insect inlet. A vacuum device communicated to the insect inlet is constructed and arranged to draw insects attracted to the exhaust outlet through the insect inlet and into the insect trap chamber.
