摘要:
A device for detecting and marking differences between two substrates, such as images or written text. The device has an image capturing device that is in communication with image recognition software. Images of a secondary images are analyzed and compared to a primary image to detect differences between the two. Once a difference is detected, the device automatically disperses a marking material in the proximity of the detected difference.

A manually operable flying insect trap includes an elongated hollow cylindrical body having two generally closed ends and a small orifice in each of the ends. A vacuum device including a bellows, first and second ends of an intermediate pleated portion. The bellows also has a compressed state and an expanded state and is disposed adjacent a first of the opposite ends of the body with a small opening adjacent to and in communication with the small orifice in the first of the opposite ends. The funnel shape trap portion is also provided with a small orifice in the narrow portion thereof, a cone shaped piece of fly paper is attached to the inside of the tunnel shaped trap. Finally, a manually activatible mechanism is provided for expanding the bellows to draw air into or out of the body.

In one aspect, a device for capturing at least one living subject is disclosed. In one embodiment, the device has a housing means with a body portion defined between a first end and a second end and forming a bore inside along the longitudinal axis. An airflow generation means and a connected driving means are disposed within the housing means, and a collection means with a filter portion is received at least partially within the housing means. A handle means is connected to the housing means, and a power source means is connected to the driving means and physically separated from the housing means.

A color-based imaging system and method for the detection and classification of insects and other arthropods are described, including devices for counting arthropods and providing taxonomic capabilities useful for pest-management. Some embodiments include an image sensor (for example, a digital color camera, scanner or a video camera) with optional illumination that communicates with a computer system. Some embodiments include a color scanner connected to a computer. Sampled arthropods are put on a scanner to be counted and identified. The computer captures images from the scanner, adjusts scanner settings, and processes the acquired images to detect and identify the arthropods. Other embodiments include a trapping device and a digital camera connected by cable or wireless communications to the computer. Some devices include a processor to do the detection and identification in the field, or the field system can send the images to a centralized host computer for detection and identification.

A flying insect trap uses one or more attractants desirable to a particular insect, such as many species of mosquitoes. The insect trap uses a carbonic compound and an acid to produce carbon dioxide with water vapor thereby also providing some airborne acid. The chemicals are combined in a liquid trap to which airflow is directed. A fan or other airflow generator provides the wind. The device has an intake port and an exhaust vent. The intake port may be positioned directly above the exhaust vent. A light, such as a light emitting diode (LED) is positioned near the intake port. This illuminates the intake port, the light being another mosquito attractant. The color of the light may be a variety of colors such as blue or green but may also be white. A second trap in the form of a glue trap may also be used. This trap may include a sticky surface where airflow is also directed. The liquid trap provides an acidic and watery capture for the vacuumed insects and the glue trap is the second trap. Those that happen to avoid both traps are run through the fan. Exhausted gasses of carbon dioxide, one or more of specific acids and water vapor exhaust near the intake to lure mosquitoes to the area. The light and wind are also attractants. The mosquitoes are then drawn into the intake port by the wind from the fan and directed toward one or more of the traps.

A portable device for swatting and collecting bugs, insects, flies and the like is disclosed herein. In one practicable embodiment, the device includes a spread structure having a designated swatting surface, a handle having an inner hollow defined therein, a hollow tube having an open distal end joined to the spread structure and an open proximal end joined to the handle, an activatable vacuum system in fluid communication with the inner hollow of the handle, an electric power source electrically connected to the vacuum system, and a hold in fluid communication with the inner hollow of the handle. In this configuration, bugs can be struck with the swatting surface of the spread structure by wielding the handle, and air can be drawn into the open distal end of the hollow tube by activating the vacuum system so as to convey the bugs to the hold.

A vacuum attachment for grooming animals such as cats and dogs has a trap for receiving fleas and other matter carried by animals in their coats. The trap has a hollow body with an inlet connectable to a vacuum head and an outlet connectable to the inlet of a vacuum system. The trap body has a central barrier in the inlet providing an annular air flow inlet between the barrier and the trap body, and a filter screen adjacent the outlet to retain fleas and other matter entering the trap body through the annular air inlet.

An insect trapping apparatus having a spring actuated vacuum pump for capturing an insect within a container. The apparatus utilizes a nozzle that automatically extends therefrom upon an actuation of the vacuum pump by a user. An insect drawn into the apparatus by the vacuum pump is captured within the container and may be selectively released therefrom by the user without excessive harm occurring to the insect.

A vacuum operated insect trap is disclosed. The instrument is made up of a suction device adapted to be held in the hand of a person and connected to a funnel like applicator by means of a hollow wand. The user holds the instrument by its handle and holds the mouth of the applicator near the insect which is drawn into the applicator and thence into the suction device by said vacuum. A removable tank is attached to the instrument.
