The top of the main body is sealed by an upper cab and the bottom of the chamber is sealed by an openable lower cap. The main chamber includes a motor connected to a magnetically attached removable blade. The blade extends into the chamber when the grinder is assembled. When the lower cap is closed, the blade grinds material placed in the chamber. When the lower cap is opened, the blade functions as a fan to dispense ground material out of the chamber. The grinder also includes a display, an electronic scale, and an accessory cigarette lighter.

摘要： An apparatus for preparing a personal smokable product includes: a grinder section comprising a grinder for grinding plant material; a holder section attachable to the grinder section and comprising a holder receiving a wrapper support for supporting a wrapper for receiving ground plant material when aligned with the grinder; and one or more removably attachable auxiliary modules, which may include a dry herb vaporizer, an oil vaporizer, an audio speaker, and/or a storage compartment. The grinder includes a cutter having wall blades projecting from a chamber-defining wall toward a central axis of the chamber; a motor-driven shaft rotatable about the central axis, and shaft blades projecting radially from the shaft. The grinder includes conical bun members with an adjustable gap for coarseness. Even when the grinder section and the holder section are attached to each other, the wrapper is user-accessible if the holder is in its non-aligned position.

摘要： A product change method for a cigarette manufacturing machine, wherein an input hopper receives a first type of shredded tobacco from a supply header, and feeds it to at least one channel for forming, on a conveyor, a bead of tobacco, which is released onto a paper strip travelling along a forming table for forming a continuous cigarette rod; the method provides for cutting off supply of the first type of shredded tobacco to the header, emptying the header, cutting off communication between the header and the input hopper, cutting off supply of the paper strip, keeping the manufacturing machine running to form a waste stream of shredded tobacco of the first type and empty the manufacturing machine, and feeding a second type of shredded tobacco through the supply header and the input hopper to fill the manufacturing machine completely before starting up supply of the paper strip.

摘要： Bales of condensed relatively dry tobacco particles are broken up by subdividing each bale into slabs which are thereupon mechanically fragmentized, heated and moisturized with steam or steam and hot water, shredded while still heated, and thereupon subjected to one or more additional treatments. 摘要： A slicing machine comprises a frame having a support surface (10) onto which the block of material to be sliced is placed, a cutter assembly (14) for moving in a cutting plane transversely of said support surface, said cutter assembly being movable between upper and lower positions (K, K1) and a pusher (11) for moving the block of material in stepwise fashion towards said cutting plane, said pusher being movable from a rearmost position (A) in a forward direction during successive slicing operations to a forwardmost position (A1) close to the cutting plane. A pivoted retainer (22) is pivotally connected to the frame and movable between a non-retaining position and a retaining position for retaining and supporting the last slide of the block. The retainer is actuated by a pneumatic rotary actuator. The pusher moves toward its rearmost position as soon as the last slice is in a retained and supported situation. Preferably the retainer comprises a substantially U-sectioned elongate member (21) having a base and sides pivotally mounted at its sides on a fixed part of said machine, said member being movable between a raised inoperative position where it remains during each slicing operation and a lower operative position.

摘要： Bales or portions of bales of relatively dry compressed tobacco leaf laminae or ribs are dielectrically heated by microwaves, or in an electric high-frequency field, to a temperature not less than 50.degree. C., and are immediately admitted into a shredding machine without previous cooling and/or breaking up. The moisture content of the shreds is raised to between 12 and 13.5% for admission into a cigarette maker, or such moisture content is raised well above the optimum value for further processing in order to increase the filling power of the shreds. The shreds are thereupon dried to reduce their moisture content to between 12 and 13.5% prior to conversion into the filler of a cigarette rod. Two or more different types of shreds can be mixed prior to admission into the cigarette maker. The rate at which the shredding machine discharges a stream of shreds is kept constant by monitoring the density of successive bales or portions of bales and by regulating the speed at which the bales or portions of bales are delivered to the shredding station in dependency on the mass of the respective bales or portions of bales.
