摘要:
A dental product is produced from material in powder form. In a first manufacturing stage, the product is given a shape which is larger than its final shape, and in further manufacturing stages the product is subjected to material shrinkage, sintering and working in order to obtain its final shape. Metal powder is applied to the mold tool, and the mold tool with the applied metal powder is placed in pressure-generating equipment where the powder applied to the mold tool is subjected to compaction pressure which compacts the powder so that at least 80% basic density is obtained in the material. The compacted material is then machined. After machining, the compacted material is removed from the mold tool. The sintering stage is then carried out so that the final shape is obtained.

A measuring center stores three-dimensional coordinate information of an intra-oral shape measured by impression taking as a digital signal. The measuring center sends the obtained measured data to a design center using communication apparatus. The design center reproduces the intra-oral shape on a graphic display device based on the received measuring data as a three-dimensional graphic, designs a shape of a dental prosthesis and stores it as a digital signal. The processing center transmits the received design data to a milling processor as a processing command and subjects a block material to milling processing to prepare a dental prosthesis.

The invention relates to a method for the computer-controlled production of dentures for restoring at least one tooth or jaw area, especially in terms of occlusal or incisal contact. The aim of the invention is to provide a simple means of producing dentures using CAD/CAM techniques, at the same time ensuring that the contact surfaces of the denture have the individual shape required so that absolutely no subsequent work is necessary. To this end, the inventive method comprises the following steps: forming an impression of the upper and lower jaw in order to produce casts of the same and co-ordinating them using an articulator; coordinating at least two points of reference on the upper jaw cast or the lower jaw cast or other selected points of reference with the axis of rotation of the articulator or with at least two points of reference allocated to the same, arranging the upper jaw cast and the lower jaw cast in a measuring device for determining the geometry of the tooth, jaw or jaw area being restored, the two points of reference being arranged in a predetermined position in relation to the system of co-ordinates of the measuring device in order to produce a virtual representation of the axis of rotation of the articulator or the at least two points of reference allocated to the same; digitising the upper and lower jaw casts; constructing the denture using CAD and manufacturing the denture using CAM.

An interactive dental restoration method and system for use between a dentist and a dental restoration laboratory. The method includes identifying a dental restoration need in a patient; designing a preliminary treatment plan that includes design criteria for preparation of a dental prosthesis to be placed in the patient to satisfy the dental restoration need; transmitting the preliminary treatment plan via a communications network to a dental restoration laboratory; and communicating a final treatment plan, including modifications to the preliminary treatment plan where necessary, to the dentist. The system includes a computer-based dental restoration system of a network server having a database storing information about materials, procedures and preparations concerning dental restoration prostheses; a communications network providing access to the network server; and one or more computers at a dental office accessing information stored at the database over the communications network and displaying the information in a humanly readable format. Preferably, the communications network is the Internet, and the information stored in the database comprises preparation diagrams, reduction dimensions, margin design and burs for specific dental restoration prostheses. Typically, the final treatment plan includes information about materials for preparing a dental prosthesis that satisfies the design criteria, and the dental prosthesis is then prepared for placement in the patient. This enables optimization of the dental restoration with significant savings in time and effort for the dentist, dental technician and the patient.

A method and apparatus for producing dental restorations for teeth that need to be restored. In the process, a first set of data points is retrieved from a tooth or an image of the tooth to be restored. The tooth is prepared by the dentist and a second set of data points is retrieved from the tooth or an image of the tooth. The second set of points is compared to the first set of points to obtain a third set of points. The dental restoration is milled from dental material based on the image resulting from the third set of data points.

A ceramic tape is provided in its green state so that it is malleable and formable to a mold for forming a dental restoration, but will not break or crack as it is applied to the mold. Pressure may be applied to further form or adapt the ceramic tape to the shape of the mold. Heat is applied simultaneously with pressure or in a separate step to achieve high density and strength in the ceramic material. A vacuum atmosphere may be used with the application of pressure and/or heat. One or more layers of surface material such as porcelain or composite resin may be applied to the ceramic to form the dental restoration. The process is useful in the manufacture of dental materials or restorations including but not limited to orthodontic appliances, bridges, space maintainers, tooth replacement appliances, splints, crowns, partial crowns, dentures, posts, teeth, jackets, inlays, onlays, facing, veneers, facets, implants, abutments, cylinders, and connectors. Also provided is a ceramic powder in combination with one or more media materials to form a homogeneous mixture. The mixture may then be used to form a dental restoration as is or may be used to form feedstock such as filaments or wires which are then used to fabricate a dental restoration. The filaments or wires may be used in a fused deposition-modeling machine to build dental restorative materials by computer aided design software.

At an initial office visit, the dentist makes an impression of the portion of the mouth in which the tooth is located, with upper and lower occusal surfaces at or below the gum line. After preparation of a crown, the dentist presses the surface contour tool against the biting surface of the tooth to determine the depth settings for at least one burr in a surface tool that will remove the upper surface of the tooth and create a working surface for the material removal device. The dentist inserts at least one burr with the proper length in this tool so that when the tool is lowered onto the tooth, a flat surface will be created. The flat surface tool and the center hole drilling burr are operated with a device that locks onto the tooth and ensures that the top surface of the tooth will be perpendicular to the central line of the tooth. The dentist inserts the guide pin of the material removal device in the center hole and begins to remove material from the side of the tooth.

A method for producing a dental prosthesis includes computer modeling of a three-dimensional prosthetic cap based on an human implantation zone. The method first includes casting an impression of the implantation zone of the human body. Then, on the basis of the moulded impression, a digital three-dimensional representation (R1) of the implantation zone is made by sensing the implantation zone with a sensor. From this, a digital representation (R1c) of the internal surface of the prosthesis is defined on the basis of the digital three-dimensional representation (R1) of the implantation zone. A digital three-dimensional representation (R2) of the external surface of the prosthesis is then defined on the basis of the surrounding parameters of the prosthesis and the digital three-dimensional representation (R1c). Then, a digital three-dimensional representation (R3) of the external surface of the cap is defined on the basis of the external (R2) and internal (R1c) surfaces of the prosthesis, taking into account the criteria of the mechanical and aesthetic characteristics which the cap must have. Based on this three-dimensional model, an actual prosthetic cap can be produced if the cap meets certain requirements.

The invention relates to a method for restoration of a patient's tooth. An electronic image of a patient's tooth or tooth preparation is generated in a dentist's office by the dentist. The image includes color information of the tooth preparation or of the patient's tooth shade. The electronic image is forwarded to a dental laboratory by direct computer link or e-mail. A technician at the laboratory evaluates the image and suggests restorative options to the dentist, including whether further tooth preparation is required. The technician also selects the appropriate restoration tooth shade(s) so that the dental prosthesis matches the color of the patient's tooth. The laboratory then manufactures the prosthesis utilizing a plurality of porcelain coatings. If desired, an image of the prosthesis can be generated in the laboratory and forwarded to the dentist for verification of color and/or fit prior to finalizing manufacture of the prosthesis.
