摘要: A traction bed includes a frame upon which an individual is supportable, first and second lever arms pivotably coupled to the frame at a location proximate a first end of the frame and configured to be coupled to the individual's upper torso, third and fourth lever arms pivotably coupled to the frame at a location proximate a second end of the frame and configured to be coupled to the individual's pelvis or pelvic region, and a control system operable to direct a force onto each of the lever arms to pivot the lever arms relative to the frame. The force directed to the first and third lever arms is separately variable from the force directed to the second and fourth lever arms to provide differential traction on the individual's body.

摘要: Disclosed herein is an exercise apparatus for backbone care, in which an exerciser's lower body is moved leftwards and rightwards when a lower body exercising panel rotates leftwards and rightwards, so that his or her upper body is moved in a direction opposite the moving direction of the lower body, and thus a slipped disk is restored to its original position and a bent section of the backbone is straightened. A sliding means or a rotation means is provided on an upper body exercising panel so that an exerciser's upper body is exercised naturally by the movement of the lower body. Thus, free rotation of the upper body exercising panel is possible even though additional power is not transmitted to the upper body exercising panel. The exercise apparatus allows exercise to be stably conducted in the shape of an S.

摘要: A patient support apparatus is defined that includes a patient support having one or more pads for supporting a patient's torso and hip in a generally horizontal orientation. At least one, elongated leg support extends from the patient support. The leg support is movable through a generally horizontal plane. A portion of the leg support is declinable and inclinable from the horizontal plane. A traction device is connected to the leg support. The traction device is attachable to a patient's leg and operable to exert a traction force on the patient's leg along an axis of the traction device. The traction device is connected to the leg support by a slide assembly and the traction device can be secured stationary relative to the leg support or the traction device can slide relative to the leg support.

摘要: A sleep promoting and comforting device for infants having a cavity partially filled with a freely flowable material. The cavity is placed on the torso of an infant lying in any position. A plurality of appendages extend from the cavity of the device. Both the cavity and appendages have the capacity to contain enough freely flowable material to provide adequate pressure to an infant's torso. The appendages are of sufficient length to extend partially around the arms of an infant, and they may contain flexible rod-like structures that allow them to remain bent around the upper arms and waist of a sleeping infant. An attaching means enables the comforting device to remain secured on the infant's torso so as not to slip and pose a threat of suffocation. This device comforts infants lying on flat surfaces by providing continual gentle pressure to the torso and subtle restraint to the arms.
