The flange has an inner rim delimiting the aperture therein, and a central area encircling the aperture, which area has a predetermined weakening line pattern. The force needed for removing the bag flange from the skin or a body side member is smaller than the force needed for breaking the weakening lines which enables a simple gradual enlargement of the aperture of an ostomy device for adaptation of the aperture to the size of the stoma or for adaptation of the aperture to the size of a wound, as well as a complete removal of the bag flange when substituting the bag.

摘要： A convex adapter for ostomy appliances is disclosed, the adapter including an adapter ring formed entirely of a soft, tacky, moisture-absorbent and swellable, hydrocolloid-containing adhesive material, one that retains its integrity on hydration and is shape-recoverable when compressive forces are removed, and a thin substantially non-stretchable cover film extending over and beyond the convex bodyside surface of that ring. The film is removably attached to the ring and is preferably transparent (or translucent) so that at least the outline of the ring may be seen through it. A flexible but substantially non-stretchable release sheet is removably attached to the opposite pouchside surface of the ring and may be peeled away from the ring during an initial step in the use of the product.

The body waste collector comprises an ostomy bag 2 formed by sealing together the peripheral edge portions 16 of two films 7, 8 for collecting the body wastes, a faceplate 1 coupled to one film 7 of the ostomy bag, a gas-discharging vent 11 provided in the other film 8 of the ostomy bag so as to connect the inside of the ostomy bag to the outside thereof, and a deodorizing filter 12 disposed so as to communicate with the gas-discharging vent 11, wherein, between the two films 7, 8 of the ostomy bag, there is disposed an intermediate wall 13 which is comprised of a fluid-impermeable material and divides the space 10 in the ostomy bag into two regions, i.e., the region 20 at the faceplate side and the region 21 at the deodorizing filter side; this intermediate wall is disposed so as to face the whole surfaces of both the opening 6 in the faceplate and the deodorizing filter 12, and further, in the peripheral portion of the intermediate wall 13, there are formed a plurality of fluid inlets 24, 25 which connect the region 20 at the faceplate side and the region 21 at the deodorizing filter side.

The base support portion has a periphery of generally uniform thickness, a concave rear surface, a stiffened central support portion, and an aperture which passes through the central portion. The external condom catheter portion is attached to the base support portion and is in fluid communication with the aperture. An adjustment means is carried by the base support portion. The adjustable strap portion releasably and adjustably attaches to the base support portion at the adjustment means. The base support portion can be used with either conventional external condom catheters or external condom catheters according to the present invention.

摘要： An external urinary catheter for the relief of male urinary incontinence is provided. The catheter comprises a contact member which is adapted to be engaged with at least the extreme portion of a penis, said contact member being connected to a discharge conduit via an opening in the distal end section of the contact member. The catheter is provided with an aperture. A membrane, which is capable of selectively passing gases but retaining urine, is fastened to the surface surrounding the aperture. The membrane is at least partly protected by a shield. At least one vent for allowing gases to be in substantially unhindered contact with the external surface of the membrane is arranged in the catheter.

The body side member includes a first flange connected thereto via a first connecting section and the collecting bag includes a second substantially annular flange which is connected to the collecting bag via a substantially annular second connecting section. The annular second flange is radially divided into an inner portion and an outer portion by at least one opening therethrough in an essentially circular zone corresponding to or larger than the outer radius of the first connecting section which reduces the risk of leakage and also reduces the necessary cleaning when substituting the collecting bag.
