Abstract:
A solid catalyst component comprises a transition metal-containing metallocene compound, a non-cyclopentadienyl transition metal compound, a magnesium compound and a polymeric material which acts as a support. The catalyst component is combined with co-catalyst organoaluminum compound or a mixture of organoaluminum compounds to provide a catalyst composition useful for olefin polymerization, e.g., to produce linear low, medium and high density polyethylenes or copolymerization of ethylene with alpha-olefins. Product polyolefin polymers have a varied range of molecular weight distributions. The catalyst composition is prepared by a process comprising combining polymer support particles, magnesium compound, transition metal-containing metallocene compound, and non-cyclopentadienyl transition metal compound to provide a solid catalyst component, and, combining the solid catalyst component with a cocatalyst compound to provide a polyolefin polymerization catalyst composition.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to catalysts for the polymerization of ethylene and its mixtures with olefins CH2═CHRVIII, comprising the reaction product of a solid catalyst component containing Ti, Mg and halogen, an alkyl-Al compound and a particular electron donor compound selected from the compounds containing at least two oxygen atoms bonded to different carbon atoms and selected by standard tests of reactivity with triethyl-Al and MgCl2 compounds. The catalyst of the invention are used in processes for the (co)polymerization of ethylene to prepare (co)polymers having narrow molecular weight distribution (MWD).
Abstract:
A solution of a siloxy-aluminoxane composition formed by mixing (i) a hydrocarbylsiloxane substantially free of hydroxyl groups with (ii) an aluminoxane, in an organic solvent medium in which the molar ratio of aluminum to hydrocarbylsiloxane is from 1:1 to 1000:1, is heated under reduced pressure to form a more concentrated solution. A siloxy-aluminoxane composition having greater solution stability than the initial siloxy-aluminoxane composition is thereby produced.
