    摘要: A rotary counter-current solid/fluid contact apparatus is developed to enhance the efficiency of adsorption, ion exchange and regenerative heat exchange. The counter-current apparatus uses a rotor to direct fluids to multiple stationary columns. By the action of the rotor, counter-current flows of a fluid phase and a solid phase can be achieved for a combined adsorption and desorption cycle, or a combined heating and cooling cycle. The apparatus allows not only countercurrent solid-fluid flows based on columns in series, but also countercurrent solid-fluid flows in the length of each individual column. A method is also disclosed.

    摘要: A device for cleaning of polluted gas from a combustion engine, includes a centrifugal separator with a centrifuge rotor arranged to cause the polluted gas to rotate. The centrifuge rotor comprises a stack of truncated conical separating discs disposed at mutual spacing so they delimit intermediate spaces between them for the gas to flow through. An outlet chamber is disposed centrally within the stack of separating discs, whereby the centrifuge rotor is configured for counterflow separation. The centrifugal separator comprises a gas outlet which communicates with the outlet chamber. The stack of separating discs is disposed for rotation in a space formed within the combustion engine and arranged to receive the polluted gas, to which end the intermediate spaces between the separating discs communicate directly with the space, and the gas outlet is arranged to conduct the cleaned gas out from the space through a wall which delimits the space.

    摘要: A continuous, completely jacketed countercurrent centrifugal extractor of the type utilized to mix and separate two liquids that have different specific gravities and enter through separate inlets. The extractor has at least one overflow weir in a mixing zone between the inlet for the specifically lighter and the inlet for the specifically heavier liquid phase and a division of the mixing zone into mixing-and-separation compartments. Access channels empty into the vicinity of the inner surface of a drum jacket and into that of the heavier phase, to conduct the lighter phase out of the compartment inside the hub of a conveyor worm into the initial mixing-and-separation compartment. One or more overflow channels also empty into the vicinity of the heavier phase, in the overflow weir to divert the lighter phase separated in the initial mixing-and-separation compartment into another and subsequent mixing-and-separation compartment. The design creates several highly efficient contact points in the vicinity of the mixing zone that enhance the extracting action.

    摘要: A centrifugal oil filter for removing contaminant particles from a pressurized fluid medium includes a cylindrical drum concentric with and fixedly secured to a rotational shaft, with an annular disc being disposed within and rotatable with the drum. The disc is centered within the drum and spaced from the internal circumferential surface of the drum so as to partition the drum into two radial passageways interconnected at said internal circumferential surface. The latter is of irregular configuration to define an annular collection zone for collecting contaminant particles centerfuged outwardly by rotation of said drum. Pressurized fluid medium is provided to one radial passageway, flows past the annular collection zone where the contaminant particles are centerfuged and entrapped in the irregular internal circumferential surface of the drum, after which the pressurized fluid medium is forced radially inwardly through the other radial passageway and out of the centrifugal oil filter.
