Abstract:
The present invention is related to methods and systems for collected item information for stored items. In one embodiment, a networked food storage system comprises a first sensor configured to read information from item tags coupled to items, wherein the items are stored or intended to be stored in a storage unit. A data store is configured to store food preferences for at least a first user. Instructions, stored in computer readable memory, are configured to: cause a first user interface to be displayed to the first user via which the first user can request a meal suggestion; retrieve preference information for the first user from computer readable memory; retrieve information read from at least a first item tag; and provide a meal suggestion based at least in part on preference information for the first user and item tag information.
Abstract:
An illumination apparatus, method and system to facilitate manual sorting of components. The illumination apparatus can include an array of lights and a component holder receptacle configured to receive a component holder retaining components. The illumination apparatus can further include a control module configured to receive information identifying components for sorting and location information for locating the one or more components on the component holder, and to selectively control activation of individual lights of the array of lights to illuminate the one or more components.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a device for detecting the handling of at least one object, the device including a deformable enclosure, to which are attached at least one sensor for the detection of a grasping of objects and at least one wireless radio transmitter, the sensor being able to provide either one from among a first signal for detection of the grasping of an object and a second signal for detection of the absence of grasping of an object. The invention is characterized in that the transmitter includes first means for wireless radio transmission of a third signal, allowing determination of a localization of the enclosure towards a receiver remote from the deformable enclosure, as well as second means for wireless radio transmission of the first or second signal towards said receiver.
Abstract:
A technique for organizing pathology samples includes sorting the samples into bins defined at different physical locations of a sorting apparatus, based on a set of designations applied to the samples. With such an arrangement, unorganized pathology samples may be grouped so that all the same accession numbers are grouped together for efficient filing or re-filing with reduced error. An apparatus suitable for use according to this technique includes a support structure and multiple dividers defining multiple sets of bins on the apparatus. A different set of bins is provided on the apparatus for each of the set of designations applied to the samples.
Abstract:
A waste sorting apparatus including: an input conveyor for conveying an input stream of mixed waste materials including items of a plurality of different types; a plurality of output conveyors for conveying respective output streams of said waste materials; and a plurality of operator stations for respective human operators, wherein the input conveyor and the plurality of output conveyors are configured to be accessible from each operator station to allow each operator to sort items of said different types from the input stream to respective ones of the output streams, each of the output streams including sorted items of a corresponding one of said types, and wherein at least one of the output conveyors is a far-side output conveyor on the far side of the input conveyor from the operator stations to allow each operator to throw items to the far-side output conveyor over the input conveyor.
Abstract:
Sorting installation with a sorting area for sorting articles from source containers into target containers by means of a sorting person located in the sorting area. The sorting installation includes at least one target container revolving conveyer device adjacent to the sorting area, which is provided such that it supplies a plurality of target containers along a target container conveying circuit in a conveying circuit plane to the sorting person in the sorting area in a repeated and revolving manner until the respective target container is loaded with articles from one or a plurality of source containers up to a predetermined degree, wherein the conveying circuit plane of the target container conveying circuit of the respective target container revolving conveying device extends substantially vertically and crosses the sorting area, and a target container conveying installation for supplying and returning target containers to and from the at least one target container revolving conveyer device.
Abstract:
A liner for use in a waste sorting and disposal system is configured for placement in a container is provided. The liner includes an internal space and an opening that provides access to that internal space. In some embodiments, the liner may also include a machine-readable identification key that is configured to identify a type of waste that the liner may receive. In some embodiments, the machine-readable key is optical, color-coded, alphanumeric or graphical. The liner can include one or more closure members to allow a user to securely seal the liner when it is removed from the container. In some embodiments, the liner can include a flange, lip, hook or other protrusion to secure its position relative to a container.
Abstract:
A system for disposing of medical waste is generally configured to sort waste items into a plurality of disposable containers according to applicable rules and regulations governing the handling and/or disposal of such items. In some embodiments, a system comprises sorting stations, each of which houses a number of disposable containers. Each station can identify an item of waste, determine the most appropriate container for the item, and facilitate disposal of the item in the appropriate container.
