The method for detecting the configuration of elongated elements includes the steps of providing along a supply line (A) a drawing and/or straightening assembly (4) for an element (2), a detection station (S) downstream of the drawing and/or straightening assembly, a detection assembly (3) comprising at least a first contact member (31, 32, 31a, 31b, 32a, 32b) arranged in the detection station (S) and shaped to interact in contact with the element (2) to force the element (2) along the supply line (A) if the configuration of the element (2) deviates with respect thereto. Said at least first contact member (31, 32, 31a, 31b, 32a, 32b) is associated with a sensor device (33, 33) comprising a sensitive element (35, 35′) configured to emit an signal indicating a stress produced by the contact between said at least first contact member (31, 32, 31a, 31b, 32a, 32b) and the element (2), at least when the element (2) is forced along the supply line (A).

A processing device processes a frame-shaped workpiece which extends in a prescribed extension direction, and includes, integrally, a plate-shaped web surface portion, a plate-shaped first flange portion that bends and extends from one end of the web surface portion, and a plate-shaped second flange portion which bends from the other end of the web surface portion and extends in the opposite direction to the first flange portion. The processing device includes a shaping device which conveys the workpiece in the extension direction, and an exit side pinch roll device provided further downstream, in the workpiece conveying flow direction, than the shaping device. The exit side pinch roll device includes a first roll which presses a central region of an upper surface side of the web surface portion, and a second roll which presses a central region of a lower surface side of the web surface portion.

Abstract:
A method to improve the collapse resistance of metallic tubular products is disclosed. Stress is applied to the metallic tubular products in order to change the residual stress profile of the metallic tubular products, such as those that have completed a straightening process, resulting in a residual stress profile that improves collapse resistance. The metallic tubular product is subjected to radial compression processing to control the residual stress profile and to enhance collapse resistance. The radial compression process may be applied after the tubular product has been subjected to a straightening process.

An aluminium alloy for superplastic aluminium flat products having the following composition: Si≤0.4 wt. %, Fe≤0.4 wt. %, Cu≤0.1 wt. %, 0.5 wt. %≤Mn≤1.0 wt. %, 4.7 wt. %≤Mg≤5.5 wt. %, 0.05 wt. %≤Cr≤0.25 wt. %, Zn≤0.25 wt. %, Ti≤0.20 wt. %, Na≤2 ppm, unavoidable impurities individually ≤0.05 wt. %, in total ≤0.15 wt. %, remainder aluminium. A method for producing an aluminium flat product in which an aluminium melt is provided from the above-mentioned aluminium alloy, in which the aluminium melt is cast to form an ingot, in which the ingot is hot rolled to form a hot strip, in which the hot strip is cold rolled to form a cold strip, and in which the cold strip is levelled. Further disclosed is an aluminium flat product produced by the method and a use thereof.

A method for producing a heat transfer tube for a steam generator comprises a step of providing a tube and then applying cold drawing to the tube by using a high-pressure lubricating oil of 40 MPa or more in pressure. After the step of applying cold drawing to the tube, a step of applying a solid solution heat treatment to the tube is conducted. After the step of applying a solid solution heat treatment to the tube, a step of straightening the tube by using a roll straightening machine is conducted. An offset amount of 5 mm or less is formed for at least successive three pairs of upper and lower straightening rolls of the roll straightening machine.

A straightening device for straightening cables includes two rows of rollers, an adjusting device for manually adjusting a distance between the rows of rollers, a measuring device for recording the distance between the rows of rollers, and an indicator device with which deviations of the actual value of the distance between the rows of rollers, determined by the measuring device, from a nominal value is visually indicated. The indicator device has two optical error indicating elements for indicating too high and/or too low an actual value compared with the nominal value of the distance, as well as an optical ‘correct’ indicating element for indicating that the actual value of the distance corresponds with the nominal value.

A system is disclosed for deploying tubing disposed on a spool. In an embodiment, the system includes a tubing support trailer that further includes a towing hookup assembly configured to couple the system to a vehicle, a spool support frame coupled to the towing hookup assembly, and a tubing spool rotatably coupled to the spool support frame. In addition, the system includes a tubing straightener trailer pivotally coupled to the tubing support trailer. The tubing straightening trailer includes a cart having a longitudinal cart axis and including a plurality of wheels, and a tubing straightening assembly coupled to the cart. The tubing straightening assembly is configured to move laterally relative to the cart and the cart axis. The tubing straightening assembly includes a plurality of rollers configured to engage and reduce the curvature of the tubing paid out from the spool.

A method for leveling parts in a roller leveling machine, which includes an upper and a lower roller frame, and in which upper and lower leveling rollers are each arranged in a separate leveling roller block, at least one of the leveling roller blocks being variable in its position and angle so that the leveling gap can be adjusted, wherein at least one leveling gap setting device is arranged at the infeed side and at the outfeed side of the leveling machine, and an automatic leveling gap control is provided to set the leveling gap. The method includes determining, for each leveling triangle of the roller leveling machine, an offset value based on the thickness, width, and bending moment of the part to be leveled and characteristics of the leveling machine including a max deflection of the roller frame, and readjusting a setting device of the leveling gap as a function of the leveling triangles mapped onto the part to be leveled as it moves through the leveling gap.
