    摘要: A method and apparatus for rebar cage construction is disclosed. A computerized controller operates an apparatus that automates parts of the rebar cage formation process. The computer controls motors for rotating the barrel and operating a wagon containing spiral coil wire. Initial rods are placed on a plurality of latitudinal conveyors. Dual cage ring assemblies are placed on the latitudinal conveyors, and notches or slots within the cage rings engage with the initial rods. The conveyors rotate the dual cage ring assemblies and a rod dispenser places a rod in additional notches. The rods, when completely installed, form a barrel structure. A wagon containing spiral coil wire is then moved longitudinally while the conveyors rotate to wrap the spiral coil wire around the barrel, to form a spiraled rebar cage.

    摘要: A rod-based well screen is formed in place on a perforated pipe base by wrapping wire around the pipe base and a plurality of rods located around the outside of the pipe. The wire is welded sequentially to each individual rod as it is wrapped around the pipe. The welding and ground electrodes engage the wire and the rods respectively. The rod engaging ground electrode is positioned a short distance ahead of the wire being wrapped around the rods and the pipe base. The ground electrode includes a plurality of contacts. Each contact is mounted to pivot toward and away from a rod. Springs urge each contact toward a rod to hold the rod against the outside surface of the pipe base and to maintain good electrical contact between the contact and the rod. Each contact has a groove to guide the rod into position for welding to the wire.

    摘要: A mobile wire wrapping machine adapted for wrapping wire under tension around a stationary, generally circular object of large size during substantially continuous travel of the machine around such object. This machine contains a supply of wire utilized in conjunction with a wire tensioning assembly through which the wire passes, with the wire tensioning assembly serving to create a substantial amount of tension in the wire as it passes therethrough, to thereafter be wrapped around the large object. My novel machine utilizes a tension indicating device, which advantageously involves a weight mounted for motion in a direction such that its position is influenced by gravity. The position of the movably mounted weight serves as a reflection of the amount of tension in the wire, and movement of the weight during operation of the machine, provides a conspicuous indication, on a substantially continuous basis, of any changes in tension in the wire. This tension indicating device may be utilized in connection with an arrangement operatively associated with the wire tensioning assembly, for modifying the tension in the wire, so that the wire being wrapped around the large stationary object will be automatically maintained at a consistent tension. In accordance with one embodiment of this invention, the movably mounted weight is suspended by a pulley arrangement, whereas in accordance with another arrangement, the weight is mounted in an adjustable manner on a balance beam, with motion of the balance beam during operation of the machine being about a balance point.

    摘要: A machine for manufacturing a reinforcing body for a concrete part, the reinforcing body including longitudinal rods and wires wound over and welded to the rods. The machine includes an axially stationary main wheel and an axially mobile support wheel mounted coaxially and drivable synchronously with the main wheel. Adjustable guide pieces are carried by the main wheel for supporting the longitudinal rods to be welded. A first servomechanism is connected to the guide pieces for producing a common uniform adjustment of the guide pieces. A welding carriage is movable transversely to the machine longitudinal direction. A second servomechanism synchronized with the first servomechanism moves the welding carriage in synchronism with the adjustment of the guide pieces and the rods and wire consecutively during rotary movement of the main wheel. A transducer is provided for generating a signal as a function of the rotary angular position which is fed to an amplifier for amplifying the signal by a factor corresponding to the desired size of the reinforcing body. A third servomechanism is connected for receiving the amplified signal and for moving the welding carriage transversely of the machine by an amount dictated by the amplified signal. The second and third servomechanisms are connected in series for moving the welding carriage in accordance with the sum of their movements.

    摘要: High speed cutters are attached adjacent the outlet of a wire cage making machine to sever individual cages as they issue from the machine. Upon actuation, a positioning piston swings the jaws of each cutter into a cutting position around each longitudinal cage wire and simultaneously opens a control spool to admit hydraulic fluid to a power cutting piston to sever the wire. The pistons and jaws then quickly retract to avoid interference with the advancing wires of the next cage. A hoist neutralizes the weight of the cut cage while the wrap wires are cut, and a second hoist automatically transports and deposits the cage at a preselected location.
