    摘要: Each original has a notch. A notch detector is located a distance Z upstream of the point at which the notch centerline is later to be stopped, and generates a notch-start and a notch-end pulse. A transducer generates strip-increment pulses during strip transport. In response to a notch-start pulse first and second counters start counting the strip-increment pulses, the first counting the Z distance, the second counting the notch length N. A divider ascertains the notch half-length N/2, which is then stored. When the counting of the Z-distance is finished, strip transport is not immediately stopped, and instead is stopped only after the counting of a further number of strip-increment pulses corresponding to the length N/2, whereupon transport is stopped. This references the system to the reliable centerlines of variable-length notches, instead of the leading ends of the notches, and assures correct positioning when transport is stopped.

    摘要: A system, apparatus and method for cutting battery grids or plates from a continuous strip of a plurality of connected battery grids. The continuous strip moves toward a rotating cutter with at least two cutter blades with cutting edges equally circumferentially spaced apart and extending parallel to the cutter axis of rotation and a rotating cooperating anvil. The cutting edges and the anvil are rotated at the same tangential speed to cut in a nip between them a plate or grid from the continuous strip of connected grids. At a point upstream of the cutter, an electric signal indicative of each lug of the grid of the continuous strip moving past this point is used to control the speed of movement of the strip through the nip to cut a plate or grid from the continuous strip at a longitudinal speed which is essentially the same as the tangential speed of the cutting edges.

The slat cutting device is mounted on the stationary track and has a rolling cutter that is swiftly turned to cut a slat of the roller shade. Therefore, the cutting machine can be used to cut not only the roller but also the slat of the roller shade so that the machine is convenient to use.

    摘要: A laser arbor is provided that will display a cutting line on a work piece to be cut by a rotary saw. The laser is operated by a centrifugal switch mounted within the laser arbor along with a laser diode or the like and a battery. Because of the rotation of the laser with the blade and the persistence of the human eye, the moving light spot from the laser appears as a single line, hence it is not necessary as in the prior art to produce light divergence in the plane parallel to the blade plane. For that purpose, it is preferable to employ a light source having a wavelength that lies in a region to which the eye is sensitive, which in practice will typically mean a wavelength in the upper region of the red. Placement of the laser inwardly from the cutting surface of the blade eliminates the danger of any damage occurring to the laser as a result of debris from the cutting process.

The device comprises along a feed plane, guiding device for the web comprising a pair of mutually tangential rollers, apparatus for feeding the web along said plane and a device for cutting the web into portions. The main feature of the device is that at least one of the guide rollers is mounted on a shaft coaxial thereto and rotating with continuous motion, and is connected to the shaft by a self-locking device which prohibits any discordant relative rotation between the roller and the shaft but which allows idle rotation of the roller on the shaft at an angular speed exceeding the angular speed of the shaft, the angular speed of the shaft being close to but less than the angular speed transmitted to the respective roller by the feed device by way of said web.
