    摘要: Apparatus for progressive blind broaching has an indexing table which carries a load station, a unload station and several tool stations. Broaches are mounted on the table at the tool stations. Rams on opposite sides of the table move workpieces up and down to be broached between intermittent indexing of the table. The load station has a workpiece holder to deliver unbroached workpieces to the rams. The unload station has a workpiece holder to receive broached workpieces from the rams. A transfer mechanism moves workpieces from a exchange depot at the rear of the table to the load station and moves workpieces from the unload station to the exchange depot. This transfer mechanism moves across the top of the table and does not occupy or obstruct any space along the sides or front of the table.

    摘要: Disclosed is an apparatus for defining a bending or welding groove in a cutting blade. A pair of fixed blocks are fixed to a base of a cutting blade forming apparatus. A slider is slidably coupled to each fixed block, and a bite support block is slidably coupled to the slider. The slider and the bite support block are respectively operated by first and second operating mechanisms. First through fourth guide parts are formed on the fixed block, slider and bite support block, to constitute dovetail joints. The first guide parts of the fixed blocks and second guide parts of sliders are formed to have a slope, such that, as the sliders are lowered, they are horizontally moved toward each other. A lower portion of a broaching bite is formed as a supporting surface, and at least one broaching edge portion is formed above the supporting surface portion.

    摘要: A broaching machine has a broach carrying ram mounted for reciprocating movement in a vertical path through a downward cutting stroke and an upward return stroke. A work holding table has a support plate on its upper surface receiving a part holding fixture thereon to hold parts in position for cutting by said tool, and the lower surface of said table has a pivot mounting to the machine base. Horizontal shuttling movement of said plate toward and away from the ram path is provided by a cam block movable transversely in said table and having a cam slot extending at an angle to the path of movement of the cam block. A cam follower is attached to the underside of the table and extending into said cam slot, and pistons are arranged in the table to reciprocate the cam block. The cam slot extends at an acute angle to the path of the cam block. A cylinder and latching linkage is connected for tilting said table between a cutting position with the plate horizontal and normal to the ram path and a loading position with the plate tilted upward and away from the ram path.

    摘要: A broaching machine for broaching an outer surface of a rotor of a rotor assembly which includes a support shaft projecting from opposite end faces of the rotor for supporting the rotor rotatably about its axis. The machine includes a backing plate for backing the rotor assembly such that one of the end faces of the rotor is held in contact with backing plate. The circumferential position of the rotor assembly is established by a positioning pin which extends from the backing plate, and engages a hole formed in the rotor. The machine includes a first centering device which has a center engageable with one of opposite ends of the support shaft so as to hold and center the support shaft at the one end, and a second centering device having a V-block and a retainer block which are engageable with the other end of the support shaft so as to hold and center the support shaft at the other end. With the first and second centering devices, the rotor assembly is easily and accurately mounted on the machine, with the axis of rotation of the assembly aligned with a line of feed of a broach cutter.

    摘要: Method and apparatus for broaching an outer surface of a resin layer of a resin-coated part whose external side surface is coated with the resin layer, wherein a backing plate is used to back the resin-coated part such that the plate is held in contact with an end face of the part at which a movable broach terminates a broaching cut in a direction along the outer surface of the resin layer. The backing plate has an external profile similar to a cutting edge contour of the broach. The backing plate is positioned on a work bed of the broaching apparatus such that its external profile is inwardly spaced from the cutting edge contour of the broach a plane perpendicular to the direction of movement of the broach. The backing plate, which forms a part of a work-holding fixture, serves to protect the resin layer from breakage, chipping or other defects at the end of a broaching pass along the outside of the resin-coated part.
