The work spindle (1) is driven by electric motor either directly or via a gear unit.

    摘要: A method of forming a ball screw member from an elongated workpiece having an outer cylindrical surface, as well as the ball screw member formed by the method. A helical ball screw thread is machined on the outer cylindrical surface, the helical ball screw thread having a helical groove and a helical crest surface. An end journal or other end treatment is formed in the workpiece, the end journal or other end treatment being located during the forming operation relative to the helical crest surface. The outer cylindrical surface of the workpiece may be centerless ground prior to the machining of the helical ball screw thread. The helical crest surface may be ground after the machining of the helical ball screw thread to provide increased concentricity between components of the ball screw member. A high precision ball screw member may be formed from the ball screw member by performing a regrinding operation on the helical groove, the regrinding operation being positioned relative to the helical crest surface.

    摘要: The invention has a turnback roll which can transfer and guide a polishing tap in a tangential direction of a pressure contacting roll, a vertical oscillation mechanism which linearly oscillates the pressure contacting roll in a tangential direction of a ball groove while being orthogonal to a rotating axis line, and a horizontal oscillation mechanism which linearly oscillates the pressure contacting roll in a direction of a rotating axis line toward both inner side surfaces of the ball groove. The ball groove can be securely polished by the polishing tape on the basis of the continuous or intermittent transfer of the polishing tape and the linear oscillating motion of the ball groove. It is possible to improve a polishing precision, it is possible to improve a surface roughness of the ball groove and it is possible to improve a polishing workability of the ball groove.

    摘要: A vertical mill machine may be configured to facilitate a process of grinding a thread into a work piece. In one example, the method includes securing a fixture onto a planar surface of a vertical mill machine, the fixture being rotatable. The method further includes securing a work piece to the fixture and rotating the work piece about a Y-axis. The method yet further includes positioning a milling axle configured to move about an X-Y-Z-axis adjacent a circumferential surface of the work piece, wherein the milling axle includes a tool and wherein the tool is configured to rotate about the Y-axis. The method further includes rotating the tool about the Y-axis and contacting the tool with the circumferential surface of an exposed end of the work piece. The method yet further includes grinding a thread into the work piece with the tool.

    摘要: A method is provided for tipping the leading edge of teeth on a thread cutting tool with wear resistant material, without altering the basic size and shape of the tool, and without having to alter the way in which the teeth are cut. A plurality of veins of wear resistant material are hardened in slots in the tool body before axial flutes are cut into the tool body. When the flutes are cut, one side of the veins is exposed, and when the teeth are cut, they are thereby armored by the remainder of the exposed veins.

    摘要: In prior art, an additional radial inward movement that is performed in accordance with a rotating cam disk is imparted on the grinding disk in order to relief-grind the cutting teeth and the chamfer of taps and the cutting teeth of thread formers. The invention relates to a cam disk which can be rotated about an axis and is provided with a control cam. The control cam forms a group of curves according to a large number of possible undercut contours on the grinding teeth of the tap or thread former, which are to be relief-ground. In order to obtain a specific undercut contour on a cutting tooth, a limited angle of rotation is selected from the control cam. The area is mechanically, optically, or electronically scanned by means of a scanning device. To this avail, the cam disk performs an oscillating rotary movement only above the selected section of the control cam. Relief-grinding of the cutting tooth is completed once a fore-and-aft movement has been performed, and the grinding disk returns to the starting position thereof. The result of the scan is transmitted to an electronic control device via a signal line.

According to the present invention, the lead of a small-diameter, deep-grooved female screw-shaped portion may be able to be machined. In addition, an ordinary NC machine tool can be used to machine leads of screw-shaped portions simply by making changes in the NC program.

    摘要: A process for dressing a single or multiple-grooved worm or threaded workpiece by a single or multiple-grooved worm or threaded dressing tool includes the turning of the workpiece and tool with the dressing tool in a comb-type contact with the workpiece. By using an additional axial relative movement between the dressing tool and the workpiece, determined by the radial positioning and return movements, the contact points are displaced such that the desired grinding profile is produced on the workpiece. Since the entire surface area of the instantaneous contact points is significantly smaller than the entire profile area of the workpiece, the cutting forces which occur are relatively small, so that high dressing speeds can be obtained. It is also possible to make various flank corrections on the workpiece. The apparatus for carrying out the process is also disclosed.
