Abstract: A tip saw has disk-shaped and comprises cutting blade pieces, support pieces, and a base metal. The cutting blade pieces are disposed at blade edges of the tip saw. The support pieces are disposed between adjoining two of the cutting blade pieces. The cutting blade pieces and the support pieces are configured to be thicker than a thickness D1 of the base metal of the tip saw (D2>D1). The support pieces have a thickness equal to or nearly equal to the thickness D2 of the cutting blade pieces (D3=D2 or D3≈D2). Consequently, the width of a cut groove Pc formed on a work material by the cutting blade pieces can be maintained wider than the thickness D1 of the base metal of the tip saw by the support pieces without increasing the number of the cutting blade pieces of the tip saw.

Abstract: The present disclosure concerns a saw tooth holder for a cutting disk of a rotary cutting machine. The saw tooth holder comprises a holder body having a tooth-receiving surface abuttable against a rear surface of a saw tooth of a tooth assembly and a trailing surface, opposed to the tooth-receiving surface, and defining a trailing oblique angle with respect to the tooth-receiving surface. The holder body has a fastener-receiving aperture extending therethrough between the tooth-receiving surface and the trailing surface and being accessible from the tooth-receiving surface and the trailing surface. The present disclosure also concerns a cutting disk comprising such a saw tooth holder, a saw tooth holder in combination with a tooth assembly, and a rotary cutting machine comprising such a cutting disk.

Abstract: A circular saw blade includes a ceramic coating applied to opposing major surfaces in an outer margin of the circular saw blade where cutting teeth of the saw blade are arranged in spaced-apart relation and separated by blade tooth gullets. The ceramic coating inhibits abrupt increases in temperature of the outer margin during cutting operation to thereby inhibit the cutting teeth from deviating laterally. Methods of making saw blades include applying a ceramic coating to the outer margin using a plasma spray process or another coating process.

Abstract: A circular saw blade includes a generally flat disk with a cutting periphery defined by a plurality of carbide teeth arranged in spaced relation around the perimeter of the disk and projecting radially outwardly from the disk. Each tooth of the cutting periphery includes a pair of spaced-apart primary side faces, a cutting face having a cutting edge with a top bevel angle within the range of at least 25 degrees to about 50 degrees, and at least two secondary side faces. Each secondary side face extends between the cutting face and a respective one of the pair of primary side faces and has a relief angle relative to the immediately adjoining primary side face. The circular saw blade of the present invention is ably suited to provide a smooth cutting finish without splintering of the top and bottom edges in connection with a wide variety of cuts, including crosscutting and ripcutting.
