    摘要: A mold is provided for use with a wheel-type blow mold machine, the mold being one of a plurality of molds for locating in a circular pattern on a wheel of the blow-mold machine and having a longitudinal direction for aligning tangentially with a circumferential direction of the mold wheel and a transverse direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. The mold has a first part and a second part. The first part has a first molding portion with a longitudinal end in the longitudinal direction of the mold and a first end portion adjoining the first molding portion at the longitudinal end of the first molding portion and having a free edge opposite the first molding portion, the free edge being non-parallel to the longitudinal direction and the transverse direction. The first part also has an outer cooling circuit located in the first end portion, and an inner cooling circuit located in the first end portion at a different location in the transverse direction than the outer cooling circuit. The inner cooling circuit is a split tube with a first passage of the split tube being for directing a cooling fluid to the first end portion and a second passage of the split tube being for directing the cooling fluid from the first end portion. The second part is separable from the first part and has a second molding portion.

    摘要: Method for manufacturing plastic bottles, including the step in which respective preforms are removed from the respective moulds, and the step in which said preforms are transferred into temperature conditioning stations for a predetermined period of time, during which said preforms are caused to undergo an asymmetrical heat treatment that is effective in heating in a different manner a preform sector having an angular spread of a definite value that is anyway not less than 180null. The method includes the step in which said surface sector of the preform is heated up with the help of heating means that are partially arranged in a crown-like manner around the respective preform. The blow-moulding process comprises the sub-steps in which: the stretching rod is inserted into the preform up to the point in which it almost comes into contact with the bottom thereof; a stretching counter-rod is approached from the outside of the preform up to the point in which it almost comes into contact with the bottom of the preform; the preform undergoes blow-moulding while, at the same time, said stretching rod moves further forward into the preform and, by in this way pressing against the bottom of the preform, pushes the stretching counter-rod in a direction of ejection from the blow-moulding cavity.

The carriers are transported about the machine in an unrestrained manner where spacing of the carriers does not correspond with cavitation of the machine. First and second conveyors and associated drives convey the carriers at different rates. The first and second conveyors and their associated drivers are independently controllable from one another such that the first and second rates are independently variable which allows changeable cavitation.

    摘要: An improved blow mold shell, and a blow mold shell assembly, for use in blow molding containers is disclosed. The blow mold shell comprises an elongate unitary blow mold shell body defining a partial molding cavity, the partial molding cavity having a container neck forming portion and a container body forming portion. A first continuous cooling circuit is defined within the shell with respect to the neck forming portion of the molding cavity. A second separate, and independent, continuous cooling circuit is defined within the shell with respect to the body forming portion of the molding cavity. So constructed, the neck and body portions of a blow mold container may be separately cooled, and/or heat-treated, as desired, during the molding process to allow the sidewall portion of the container to be molded in as thin a sidewall section as possible in contrast to the neck portion of the container. The shell assembly is comprised of two substantially identical ones of the blow mold shells releasably mated to one another, and also includes a base assembly received at the second end of the blow mold shells. The base assembly defines a base portion of the molding cavity, and has a separate cooling circuit for cooling the base forming portion of the molding cavity.

The fluid flows out of the outlets (13), enters a fluid discharge manifold (15), and is discharged to the outside. Rapid heating and rapid cooling of the metal mold (2) are performed, no irregularity occurs in temperature, and the cycle time can be shortened, so that a metal mold device for blow molding in which the energy consumption is small can be obtained.

    摘要: A method of making a disposable tumbler includes: injection molding a polyethylene terephthalate resin in an annular mold cavity defined by an injection mold wall and a core to form a resinous parison on the core; separating the parison from the injection mold wall by moving the parison on the core away from the mold wall; moving the parison on the core into alignment with a blow-mold; and expanding the parison by directing a pressurized fluid to its interior such that the parison separates from the core and expands to the surface of the blow mold to form the tumbler, wherein the parison is radially expanded by a factor of at least about 2.6 at its base to form the tumbler. Typically, the parison is radially expanded at its base by a factor of from about 2.6 to about 3.25 to form the tumbler; whereas preferably the parison is expanded by a factor of from about 2.7 to about 2.9. In preferred embodiments of the method, the mold core is provided with a microtextured surface which may be provided by way of vapor-honing to provide a tumbler which resists nest-lock. Moisture, judiciously applied, may likewise alleviate nest-lock. The annular mold cavity is generally thicker than similar cavities which may be employed with polystyrene, for example.
