    摘要: A printing press for newspaper production comprises several printing units each having two plate cylinders for concurrently printing on both sides of a web, each plate cylinder having several predefined plate-mounting positions. The control system includes an assignment controller for putting out ASSIGNMENT INFO indicative of how all the printing plates to made for each newspaper issue are assigned to the plate-mounting positions on the plate cylinders. A plate-maker controller provides CONTENTS INFO indicative of at least the page number of each printing plate being made. In response to the ASSIGNMENT INFO and CONTENTS INFO a printer controller produces POSITION INFO indicative of the desired plate-mounting positions on each plate cylinder to which the printing plates are to be mounted, causing a printer to print the POSITION INFO on each printing plate that has been made. After the printing plates are mounted to the plate cylinders, the POSITION INFO printings thereon are read by respective readers, which thereupon put out the POSITION INFO readings together self-identificatory READER INFO. Whether each printing plate is mounted to the correct position on the correct plate cylinder is determined on the bases of the POSITION INFO read therefrom and the READER INFO.

    摘要: The present invention relates to both a textile article and a method of making the textile article. The textile article is a two-sided multicolor Jacquard or Dobby woven textile with a graphic impression on at least one side thereof. In one embodiment, the front side of the textile has a dark color border and a light color area within said border. The light color area is the area receiving the graphic impression. It is sometimes advantageous to reverse the textile. Therefore, in another embodiment the front side has a light color border with a dark central area, and the dark central area will receive the graphic impression. The graphic impression may be applied by screen printing, image dyeing, digital imaging, or heat transfer (heat applied graphics). The method of making the article comprises the steps of providing a two-sided Jacquard or Dobby woven textile and then transferring the impression onto the textile, preferably in the light color central area, but the reverse side of the textile could be employed and the impression could be on the dark central area. The textile may be a golf or sports towel, hand, bath, or wash towel, beach towel, baby bib, a bath or beach robe, a bath mat, an apron, hot-plate, mittens, and the like.

    摘要: A method of determining misalignment of color planes within an image forming apparatus. A first pattern is formed with a first color and comprises first and second sections. A second pattern is formed with a second color and positioned within the first and second sections of the first pattern. The alignment of the two color planes is determined by the difference in the amount of color within the first and second sections. The amount of misalignment may further be determined by the ratio of the difference in the amount of color within the sections and the sum of the amount of color within the sections. Perfect alignment of the two color planes results in equal color amounts in each section.

The task of the following invention is to modify such a monitoring device so that a device is obtained that permits error-proof and, especially, differentiated actions during malfunctions. A variant according to the invention consists of the fact that the signal states of the signal transmitters (G) are fed to several slaves (S) designed as computers, which are connected to each other via a bus (UB) and to a monitoring master (UM) connected upstream from a monitoring computer (UR), and that the actuators/drives A are connected to one of the slaves (S) and can be switched off with a command sent by the monitoring master (UM) via bus (UB).

    摘要: A rotary offset printing machine having printing units each with a dampening unit and an inking unit with a metering device for setting an inking profile zone can reach the continuous printing state quickly and with little accumulation of rejects. First an inking profile is set on the metering device that is the inverse of the inking profile for continuous printing with the applicator rolls set off the printing plate and the machine operating at a first rotational speed. A defined quantity of ink is supplied to the inking unit, the inking profile for continuous printing then being set on the metering device. The rubber blankets are pre-dampened and, when a third rotational speed is reached, the print is set on. Finally, the printing machine is run up to a fourth speed for continuous printing when the separation of rejects is concluded.
