Abstract:
A buttress to be placed between beads of a pneumatic tire which in turn are clamped against the buttress by adjoining wheel rims. The buttress is a hollow unibody construction formed of plastic material by a rotary molding procedure. The buttress is first formed flat and then bent to a circular shape with the ends pinned together, or as a pair of flat members bent and joined together. It includes a plurality of hollow posts that extend between longitudinal side rail, the side rails being abutted by the rims when installed.
Abstract:
A tire breaker and anti-knock arrangement includes a supplementary bearing structure formed of two parallel supplementary bearing loops supported inside the tire between two inward lips at two sidewalls of the tire for enabling the driver to keep driving the car to a repair shop upon a tire explosion due to an accident.
Abstract:
A belt and case assembly for holding and supporting items for a user is disclosed, including an outer belt surface, an inner belt surface opposite the outer belt surface, a plurality of first components of a dual component directional snap fastener traversing the outer belt surface and engaging the inner belt surface, and a case having a flexible side, wherein the flexible side incorporates a plurality of second components of the dual component directional snap fastener to form a plurality of engagements to the plurality of first components, the plurality of second components positioned with respect to one another so as to prevent rotational movement of the case about said belt, the plurality of engagements decoupled by a force applied in a predetermined direction at a first position of the first component.
Abstract:
An assembly comprising a tire (P) without an inner tube, provided with two beads and intended to be mounted on a mounting rim (J) comprising seats (440) extended radially towards the outside by flanges (R), and a rubber sealing piece (E) arranged between said rim and said tire, characterized in that the diameters (DP) of the tire bead seats are greater than the corresponding diameters (DJ) of the rim seats (440), said tire (P) being provided integrally with the sealing piece (E) formed of three parts which are integral with each other, a central part (51), made of material impermeable to the inflation gases, being placed axially between the beads of the tire, this central part (51) being extended axially beneath the beads of the tire by edges (50) integral with said beads, means being provided for facilitating the separation of the central part from the lateral parts. A process for manufacturing such an assembly.
Abstract:
An auxiliary member, made of metal or synthetic resin, is disposed between each rim seat of the rim of a wheel and at least a bead base portion of each of the beads of a pneumatic tire fitted to the rim seats.
Abstract:
An emergency support member is provided for a vehicle wheel and tire assembly having a pneumatic tire that is mounted on a wheel rim. The support member is embodied as a dished annular member within the tire, and has an emergency support surface for supporting the tire in the event of damage thereto. The annular member extends axially from the center of the rim and symmetrically over a portion of the width thereof. The annular member has a curved contour, with the two axially outer wall regions being supported upon the wheel rim via annular support elements. The dished annular member is embodied as a split ring that is not closed over its periphery, and is provided with a closure device for closing off the slit. The closure device includes two flanges that extend essentially radially inwardly relative to the rim. The closure device also includes at least one locking clamp for connecting the flanges.
Abstract:
An assembly for mounting a tire without independent inner tube including two conical metal mounting rings intended to receive the tire beads, positioned and locked on the hub of the vehicle by means of two circular lateral locking rings recessed in a hub, each locking ring being composed of a vulcanized rubber mix reinforced by and coating a reinforcement ring which is circumferentially elastic and radially resistant to compression.
Abstract:
Rolling assembly E comprising a tire 1 with at least two beads 11, a substantially cylindrical rim J, a collar 2 made of a polymeric material with two axial edges each reinforced by at least one ring, and between the said edges, a central portion reinforced by at least one armature of reinforcement elements such that the said portion is sufficiently flexible to allow the radial displacement of a blocking element which acts in concert with the complementary element of the same name of the rim J of axial width W, in which the reinforcement of each edge of the collar 2 is a collar hook 21 with a seat 210 and a flange 211, the said hooks 21, seats 210 and flanges 211 being similar to the rim hooks, seats and flanges with radial and axial dimensions in accordance with the standards in force, the width W of the rim being smaller than the axial distance L separating the axially inside ends of the seats 210 of the collar 2.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a compound, system, and method for retrofitting and converting standard bicycle rims and tires having tubes to be tubeless. Standard tube tires are retrofitted by installing either rim tape or a rim strip with integral valve stem around the inner channel of the rim, mounting the first bead of the tire, injecting a liquid sealing compound into the tire cavity, finishing mounting the tire, inflating, and installing the tire on a bicycle. The sealing compound may additionally contain propylene glycol or an aggregate material to encourage the sealing of the tires as punctures occur when the tire system is placed into use.
Abstract:
A radial ply pneumatic tire (10) features a bead core (20) which comprises an arrangement of filaments (26) positioned relative to one another. The bead core (20) has a cross-section and a radially inward base side (44), a radially outermost side (46), an axially inward first side (48), and an axially outward second side (50). In the cross section, the base side (44) of the bead core (20) has a width which is substantially linear and is between 50% to 75% of the rim seat width. The bead core base side (44) is inclined at least 15null relative to the bead's axis of rotation, while the bead heel surface has an as molded inclination at the central portion (61) radially inward of the bead base (44) at an angle of at least 10null with respect to the bead's axis. An associated rim (22) has a pair of humps (80) and a rim flange (76) associated with each hump (80). Each rim flange (76) has an axially inward surface (74), the distance between each hump (80) and the axially inward surface (74) of the associated rim flange (76) being a rim seat (62). The tire (10) further has a unique toeguard chafer (66) compound that is cut resistant.
