    摘要: The device will be placed on the outside surfaces of the tire of a car or truck in the event that the car or truck is stuck either in sand or other soft surface or pothole. On either end of the device will be a pair of shoes or flat surfaces that will grip the surface as the tire begins to rotate. Once the tire is safely out of the problem area and back on a sold road surface, the device is removed and then stowed. The device can be used on any tire of any type of vehicle.

    摘要: A device to increase the grip of the tread (11) of the wheel (10) of a vehicle comprising a base (2) provided with appropriate means for securing it to the rim of said wheel (10), in correspondence with the face thereof destined to be arranged outside, and a plurality of moving spokes (4) whose ends are connected to claws (55), the latter being elastically connected to each other to form a belt (5) whose diameter progressively increases during its positioning; said moving spokes (4) being suitable for making, upon command, said belt (5) switch from a retracted rest configuration having the shape of an annulus, in which said claws (55) are substantially arranged inside the perimeter represented by said base (2), to an extracted work configuration, so as to make its extension progressively increase up to allowing its arrangement around said tread (11), said claws (55) getting in contact with the roadbed; characterized in that the means for positioning said moving spokes (4) comprise a plate grooved according to a special spiral (6), rotationally connected to said base (2) and featuring an initial and terminal development according to an arc of circle; said moving spokes (4) comprising corresponding projecting pins (7) inserted in said special spiral (6) so as to result radially movable in correspondence with rotations of said plate (6) with respect to said base (2).

The traction enhanced irrigation system includes at least one rotary powered tire and wheel upon which at least a portion of a traction enhanced irrigation system travels across the ground. A traction enhancer includes an arched body having a substantially concave interior surface establishing an interior space for accommodating a portion of the tire of the irrigation system and a substantially convex exterior surface that faces away from the tire of the irrigation system when installed thereupon. A paddle extends outwardly from the convex exterior surface for engaging the ground as the tire rotates thereacross for resisting slippage of the tire on the ground.

    摘要: Disclosed is a heavy duty retractable traction intensifyer for adding utility and maximizing performance of agricultural tractors, harvesting combines and the like. The device has a series of aggressive and thin spades, which in fields slice into stronger subsurface layer of soil, thereby increasing drawbar pull and decreasing wheel slip and soil compaction. The series of spades is arranged in groups, each secured to a length of sturdy wire rope which is threaded through a series of tubes, whereby each group can be rotated and thus expeditiously retracted for driving on roads. The series of tubes is the outermost portion of a flexible frame, bolted to an accompanying powered tire-wheel assembly via a spacer. For obtaining a comfortable ride during heavy pulling in fields said frame includes a series of resilient semicircle-shaped loops, formed from flat stock of high-strength spring-like steel, extending radially outward from a circular band forming the innermost portion thereof. For assuring satisfactory durability and reliability of the device said frame further includes various devices for keeping magnitude of flexing within safe limits and a spade-lock. The application of wire rope is as unique as it is useful. Not only does it provide a simple way of securing and supporting the series of spades but its inherent capacity for flexing is here fully utilized, resulting in the feature of ultra-quick conversion from "rubber-drive" for roads to "steel-drive" for fields and vice versa.

    摘要: A traction device for wheeled vehicles comprises a frame for securing to a wheel of a vehicle; a grip enclosure operably secured to the frame; a grip assembly radially slidably received within the grip enclosure; and an actuator secured to the frame for extending and retracting the grip assembly in the radial direction of the wheel. The grip assembly includes a flexible outer end portion adapted to automatically follow substantially the peripheral cross-sectional shape of the tire when in the extended position. The grip enclosure includes a guide portion adapted to receive and straighten the flexible outer end portion when the grip assembly is in the retracted position. A sprocket chain is operably secured to the flexible outer end of the grip assembly. It provides rigidity to the flexible outer end in the plane of rotation of the tire and flexibility in the transverse direction into the plane of the tire.

    摘要: A tire anti-skid device comprises a mounting member removably mounted on a side surface of a wheel of an automobile in such a manner as to be coaxial with the wheel; a plurality of arms made of elastic bodies, which radially extend from the mounting member; ground-contact portions each being formed by bending the leading edge of each of the arms, which are intended to be brought in contact with a tire tread surface; a ground-contact ring for connecting the adjacent ground-contact portions with each other, which is intended to be brought in contact with the tire tread surface; and reverse portions each being formed at a junction portion between the arm and the ground-contact portion, which are intended to reverse the ground-contact portions in such a manner that the inner surfaces in contact with the tire tread surface becomes the outer peripheral surfaces. The above anti-skid device is mounted to the tire in such a manner that the mounting member is mounted on the wheel in the state the ground-contact portions are reversed, and is brought in contact with the tire tread surface by reversing operation of the ground-contact portions.

    摘要: There is disclosed a traction enhancing device for a wheeled agricultural tractor, in which a flexible frame comprises a circular band, to which are welded a series of spade holders. The frame is bolted to the rim of the wheel by spacers, so that the frame is in non-contacting relationship with the tire. The spade holders are fabricated from flat stock of high strength spring-like steel, formed into a semicircles, and have outer tubular anchors. These anchors encircle a plurality of wire ropes that lie in mutual end-to-end relationship and described a circle that is concentric with the wheel. A series of spade assemblies are rigidly fastened on the wire ropes. The wire ropes are preloaded, and can be rotated within the anchors so that the spades assemblies alternate between a ground-engaging position and a ground-avoiding position. The spades each include lugs that slice into the strong subsurface layers of the soil, and provide a significant degree of traction improvement as the wheel turns. The flexible frame and spades follow the tire's contour, thereby forming its own elongated footprint as the wheel turns. As there is no contact between the frame and tire, riding comfort is not adversely affected even at heavy pull on a dry soil surface. Under the influence of vertical load and drawbar pull the device deforms as the spades penetrate into the soil. The dimensions of the spade holders and their spring-like elasticity allows structural compression to repeatedly occur without permanent deformation.
