摘要: A sprag one-way clutch (OWC) used within a cassette driver of the rear hub assembly of a bicycle. The new cassette driver delivers improved performance the reduction of rotation of the crank arm required before engagement within the cassette driver when the cyclist applies force to the pedals. Additionally, the sprag clutch smooth engagement minimizes friction loss during free-wheeling, therefore increasing drivetrain efficiency. These enhancements provide both safety and performance benefits by giving the cyclist greater control in moving between pedaling and free-wheeling. The current cassette driver design utilizes a sprag OWC for engagement without any modifications to current bicycle designs. A sprag cage may be used to provide a framework to support and properly position the sprags.

摘要: A wheel rim for bicycle of the present invention includes a carbon fiber main body and two strengthen layers. The strengthen layers are made of metal and are attached to two side surfaces of the main body by electroplating. As such, brake pads can rub against the wheel rim on the strengthen layers. Heat dissipation efficiency is enhanced so as to keep the wheel rim away from deformation, and the wheel rim is reinforced as well. Therefore, the wheel rim is made durable.

摘要: A wheel hub assembly with two rows of rolling elements has a central axis of rotation and inner raceway and outer raceways for each row of elements, the associated inner and outer raceways being axially displaced in accordance with a respective angle of contact and along a respective load line such that the assembly is capable of accommodating combined loading. The raceways of each row of rolling elements have osculation ratios which are defined by the ratio between the radius of curvature of the raceways and the outside diameters of the rolling elements of the associated row of rolling elements. The angle of contact and the osculation ratios of a first one of the two rows of the rolling elements are different than the angle of contact and osculation ratios of a second one of the two rows of the rolling elements.

The presently disclosed embodiments therefore allow less force to actuate the brake arm as compared to prior art caster wheels.
