    Abstract: A fluid spring mass damper for a motor vehicle may include a housing to be mounted to the vehicle and defining a cavity therein with opposed ends sealing the cavity, a damper mass received within and movable along the cavity, a first compressible fluid disposed within the cavity between the mass and one of the opposed ends of the housing to form a first fluid spring, and a second compressible fluid disposed within the cavity between the mass and the other of the opposed ends of the housing to form a second fluid spring, and an actuator configured to be responsive to a drive signal to cause the damper mass to move within the cavity against a bias of at least one of the first and second fluid springs so as to cancel or reduce dynamic movement of at least one component of the motor vehicle.

    Abstract: A damper is provided having a twin tube construction interconnected to a gas reservoir. The connection of each of the inner and outer volumes of the twin tube to the gas reservoir is independently valved, and each of these valves are independently settable to change the differential pressure thereacross at which they open. The damper provides flow passages directly from the inner and outer volumes to enable flow form the compression to rebound sides thereof, as well as through the valved connections to the gas reservoir and at least one valved opening in the damper piston.

The mold release rib is formed integrally with the cylinder and the spring seat. The mold release rib connects an outer circumferential portion of the spring seat and the cylinder. The mold release rib has a face part provided at an outer end portion of the cylinder in the radial direction.

    Abstract: A damper with a main damper assembly includes a damper tube with a damping fluid. A main working piston divides a main fluid chamber into a piston rod side and a non-piston rod side. The main fluid chamber has an upper zone, a lower zone and a mid-zone. A secondary damper assembly with a secondary working piston is in fluid communication with the main damper assembly. When the main working piston travels in the mid-zone, fluid is caused to pass through the main working piston and the secondary working piston to generate a first damping force and when the main working piston travels in either of the upper and lower zone, fluid is caused to pass only through the main working piston to generate a second damping force, wherein the first damping force is less than the second damping force.

The cross section of the first pressure stop cap portion is larger than the cross section of the pressure stop cap in the area of the circumferential recess, and the cross section of the second pressure stop cap portion is larger than the cross section of the pressure stop cap in the area of the circumferential recess.

    Abstract: An adjustment control for adjusting a damping curve of a shock absorber includes an aperture seat coupled to a base of the shock absorber. The aperture seat defines a flow tube. A plug, in mechanical communication with a spring, slidably engages the flow tube. A plug nut is threadably coupled to an adjustment nut shaft stud and is in mechanical communication with the spring. An adjustment nut is coupled to the base. The adjustment nut has a non-circular cavity to receive at least a portion of the adjustment nut shaft stud and at least a portion of the non-circular region of the plug nut such that the plug nut cannot rotate relative to the non-circular cavity of the adjustment nut. An adjustment knob causes rotation of the adjustment nut shaft stud. The rotation of the adjustment nut shaft stud causes axial movement of the plug nut.
